What Are Kamala & Trump Debating About Exactly? In the upcoming presidential debate, the focus seems to be more on performance rather than an honest exploration of the truth. However, amidst the theatrics, let's aim to decipher which candidate truly embodies the leadership skills and experience required for the presidency. For generations, my family has emphasized the American value of the intertwined relationship between Truth and Leadership. From the iconic tale of George Washington and the Cherry Tree, passed down through the years, honesty has been revered as a crucial presidential attribute. In the original story, when Washington was six years old, he received a hatchet as a gift and damaged his father’s cherry tree with it. When his father discovered what George had done, he became angry. Young George bravely said, “I cannot tell a lie…I did cut it with my hatchet.” Washington’s father embraced him and declared that his son’s honesty was worth more than a thousand trees. In today's age of information overload and conflicting narratives, distinguishing truth from fiction has become increasingly challenging. Yet, it remains essential for us to assess the candidates based on their experience and vision for a better America.
