In early October, the embassy participated in the annual #WindMeetsGas conference in Groningen, alongside a large delegation of Norwegian companies and municipalities. Organized by the New Energy Coalition, the conference focuses on #hydrogen and offshore energy, bringing together industry, government, and academia from the Netherlands and abroad to discuss opportunities and challenges in the energy transition. An important topic during the conference was the role of Nordic countries in the future of hydrogen. “It’s all about working together,” said Ambassador Erling Rimestad, as Nordic Ambassadors met on stage to receive a report on the progress of Nordic countries in advancing their hydrogen ambitions. The Norwegian Embassy together with Embassy of Sweden in The Netherlands, Embassy of Denmark in the Netherlands and Embassy of Finland in the Netherlands, and funded by The Nordic Council of Ministers and The Nordic Council, hosted a session examining key elements essential for driving the hydrogen economy forward. This session featured speakers from Nordic hydrogen companies and the Nordic Investment Bank, showcasing recent successful projects from the Nordics. Marielle Furnes Mannseth from Norwegian Hydrogen shared valuable insights on their latest projects in this evolving field, such as their latest opening of the Hellesylt Hydrogen Hub. Discussions highlighted key factors essential for making hydrogen projects bankable, including the importance of securing partnerships with established stakeholders, community support and demonstrating both technological feasibility and market demand. We thank everyone who participated in making this conference a success, and we already look forward to next year’s conference! #Alliance | The 4th Hydrogen Congress for Latin America and the Caribbean, organized by New Energy Events LLC, will bring the region's largest green H2 event to the leader of Latin America's hydrogen industry. Chile launched its hydrogen strategy over two years ago and has since announced more than 60 projects. The region as a whole is moving forward faster than anticipated. National roadmaps have recently been published in Argentina, Panama, and Ecuador, and Brazil is studying $30 billion in low-carbon hydrogen projects. But while the opportunities are huge, key challenges still remain, not least the development of local demand to sustain and scale the industry. 📆Date: June 5-7, 2024 📍Location: W Hotel Santiago, Chile. 📌Register here: https://lnkd.in/dAj_zJU #H2LAC

Pen to paper. Now we must 🏃🏼♀️ Denmark is home to innovative companies with the technological expertise and know-how on launching a large-scale hydrogen production—an essential step in driving the green transition of Europe’s industry. Meanwhile, the Netherlands is ready with a significant demand and stands with open arms to purchase this green hydrogen. So why not join forces and help each other out? Today, Danish and Dutch companies signed a Declaration on Green Hydrogen. With this agreement, the companies are sending a strong signal of their commitment to building a unified market for green hydrogen and PtX fuels to drive Europe’s green transition forward. But there’s a catch. The hydrogen pipeline to Germany is essential if we are to seize this major business opportunity, which will bring growth, jobs, and tax revenue to Denmark, and green hydrogen to the Netherlands. To make this happen, the government needs to lower the booking requirement to initiate the first phase of the pipeline at 500 megawatt. This will allow the winner of one of the North Sea offshore wind sites or the largest onshore hydrogen players to meet the requirement without relying on competitors’ commitments. We must act now. The ink is barely dry, but we’re running out of time if Denmark wants to lead the way in green hydrogen.
