Let’s talk energy. At Litton, energy sustainability is a key priority. That’s why we’ve equipped three of our locations - Riverside Works in Bakewell, Tradeworld in Rotherham, and Archer Road in Sheffield - with photovoltaic (PV) systems. These installations generate a combined annual output of approximately 474,925 kWh, cutting CO2 emissions by 115 tonnes each year. To put this into perspective: - Electricity Use: Enough energy to power 38 UK households for a year. - Car Emissions: The equivalent emissions of 35 cars in a year. - Domestic Heating: It could provide enough energy to heat 25 UK homes for a year. - Flights: Comparable to avoiding the CO2 emissions of 23 round-trip flights between London and Edinburgh. - Tree Planting: Equal to the annual carbon absorption of roughly 4,500 trees, each absorbing 25 kg of CO2. These efforts not only reduce our carbon footprint but also bring significant environmental benefits to the communities and businesses we serve. We have additional plans to further enhance our energy sustainability, and we're excited to share these initiatives with you soon. We believe these efforts will make a meaningful impact and contribute to a more sustainable future for all. #SolarPV #RenewableEnergy #CommercialProperty

During a recent awareness session, I was asked a question that left me reflecting deeply: 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐮𝐧? While solar energy is widely recognized as a clean, renewable alternative, it's crucial to consider the full lifecycle of these panels, from manufacturing to disposal. The question raised concerns about the sustainability of their production process and what happens when panels eventually lose their efficiency. Solar panels are not without their challenges—they are made from materials that require energy-intensive processes, and at the end of their life, without a robust recycling infrastructure, they could become environmental liabilities. Moreover, large-scale solar installations often require vast land areas, which can disrupt local ecosystems and geographical diversity. While it's true that the long-term environmental impact of solar energy is far lower than fossil fuels, we must acknowledge the challenges and strive for better solutions to address these issues. However, there's reason for optimism. As the industry evolves, we are likely to see advancements in solar panel recycling and more sustainable manufacturing practices. In the short term, we can also optimize the use of existing infrastructure to maximize energy generation with minimal disruption. A recent example that stands out is French legislation mandating large car parks to be covered with solar panels. This initiative not only makes use of underutilized land but also exemplifies how we can integrate renewable energy into our existing infrastructure. The path to sustainability is not linear, but through innovation and thoughtful design, we can continue to make strides toward a more sustainable future for solar energy. #sustainability #sustainableworld #solarpower #energy

On the way to green energy. Arthur Welter Logistics is taking the road to energy transition. 🍃 Installing solar panels is one of many steps Arthur Welter is taking to grow his business sustainably. The photovoltaic system of Arthur Welter Logistics in Dudelange is one of the largest roof systems connected by Enovos and installed by Paul Wagner & Fils. In total, there are more than 11,000 solar modules spread over an area of 36,000 m² at the depot in Dudelange. Of these, 700 homes can be supplied with electricity produced exclusively from renewable sources and 1,500 tonnes of CO₂ can be saved. 🙌 👀 You are looking for a logistics partner who is concerned about their ecological footprint and who is committed to the sustainable development of ecological issues, Renaud Brassart and Céline Gehl are here to help you support your logistics projects! #green #photovoltaics #energy #energytransition #ecofreindly #sustainability #performance #Logistics #LogisticsManagement #LogisticsPartner #LogisticsSolutions #Warehousing #WarehoueManagement #WMS #ActiveWMS #SupplyChain #ClientSupport #B2B #B2BMarketing #B2BSales #B2C #Dudelange #Luxembourg #ArthurWelter #ArthurWelterLogistics #awlu #ArthurWelterLu
