Why do I still do it?! After 37 years in the game, you might think I'm having a midlife crisis, but really, I'm just taking a moment to appreciate how far we've come. It all started back in 1986 at Bumpers Farm, Chippenham, with a small office supplies firm. Since then, it's been a journey of growth and passion, moving from basic stationery to comprehensive commercial Design and Build. *Three Key Lessons I've Learned:* 👉 Adaptability: Transitioning from stationery to design required constant learning and adaptation. 👉 Community: Building relationships and sharing successes has been crucial for growth. 👉 Passion: Staying passionate about creating spaces where creativity flourishes and productivity thrives keeps me motivated every day. So, that's my story. But enough about me - what's been your biggest lesson in your career journey so far?

When I saw this sign ... I had to pull over! I couldn't stop thinking about the path AFTER the sidewalk's end. Earlier this summer marked the anniversary of the end of one chapter and the beginning of an exciting new one. I'm celebrating the anniversary of my last day at my previous museum, where I spent an amazing 11 years, and the first month of owning my own business! It's been a ride, and I'd do it all over again. As I stand here just steps beyond where the sidewalk ends(literally AND metaphorically), I'm reminded that life's transitions aren't endings, but gateways to new opportunities. We often fear the unknown that lies beyond our comfort zones, but it's in these uncharted territories where we find growth, innovation, and our true potential. It's where we get to lean into our strengths to be our true and authentic selves... ... and not care if we post a professional photo with jeans👖, a tank top, and a 🧢 because... when inspiration strikes, you grab it! 🤣 Whether it's a career shift, a new project, or a personal transformation, embracing change opens doors we never knew existed. So here's to new beginnings, to forging our own paths, and to the adventures that await when we dare to step off the familiar sidewalk. So...how do I pick them up at 2pm? Summer is on. My work hasn't changed. Last year, we tried 8am to 6pm summer camps - they ended up being great for us as working parents, but a terrible fit for our little one. This year, better fitting camps will end ~2/3pm with some at least 30 minutes away. I am grateful for having this flexibility and choice AND things will be very different in how I work, how to schedule with clients appropriately, etc. Some may have kids home all day. Whether you have a parent or not on your team, summer is a shift for many. Consider asking your teammates questions like: -What does your summer look like? What will be different for you? -What would be helpful for me to know and how can I best support you?(e.g. moving a team meeting or 1:1 time slot)?
