Supporting Maternal Mental Health Maternal mental health is an often overlooked aspect of obstetric care. Conditions such as postpartum depression, anxiety, and perinatal mood disorders can significantly impact a mother's well-being and her ability to care for her newborn. Policies that integrate mental health screenings and support services into prenatal and postpartum care are essential for identifying and addressing these issues early. Providing access to mental health professionals, support groups, and educational resources can help mothers navigate the challenges of the postpartum period. It's upon us health professionals and activists, to advocate for comprehensive maternal mental health policies to support the well-being of mothers and their families. Did you know that post-menopausal women are four times more likely to experience a major depressive relapse? The National Institute of Mental Health (NIH) has found that "being post-menopausal elevated the risk four-fold for major depressive relapse but did not significantly elevate the risk for new MDD (major depressive disorder)." This underscores the importance of understanding how menopause may uniquely impacts mental health. At EleMental Health CA, we’re here to support you. As the first-of-its-kind mental health residential treatment facility designed for women, by women, we take a whole-person approach to care. Our tailored programs address the unique physiological and emotional challenges women face throughout every stage of life. #MentalHealthMatters #DepressionAwareness #MenopauseSupport #WomensHealth #EmpoweredWomen #HealingJourney #WholePersonCare #BreakTheStigma #EleMentalHealthCA
