Why finance freshers are struggling to find jobs 😓 As a finance student , the excitement of entering the professional world can quickly turn into frustration. Despite having a strong academic foundation, many freshers in finance face significant hurdles in securing job opportunities. It's time for companies to rethink their hiring strategies and invest in fresh talent. Freshers bring new perspectives, energy, and the willingness to learn. Companies that nurture and develop young talent are ultimately investing in the future of the industry. Here are some major challenges that are contributing to this issue: Experience Paradox: Most companies prefer candidates with prior experience, even for entry-level roles. This creates a paradox where freshers are expected to have work experience but aren't given the chance to gain any. Limited Openings for Freshers: The finance sector has a limited number of roles specifically designed for fresh graduates. Many job openings require advanced skills, certifications, or specific experience, which freshers lack. Skill Gap: While finance programs equip students with theoretical knowledge, there is often a gap between what is taught and the practical skills required by companies. Employers look for candidates proficient in financial modeling, data analysis, and industry-specific software, which might not be fully covered in academia. Intense Competition: The finance industry is highly competitive, with a large pool of graduates applying for a small number of positions. This makes it harder for freshers to stand out unless they have unique qualifications or internship experience. How will you get your dream job in 6 months when you complete your BBA, BCom, MBA or any such degree. Do you have a plan, or you are dependent on your college or someone else to provide you a job. I will suggest you develop a plan as when you will need one because 1. Once you look for job, you will realize that things you have learned in past few years have little relevance for companies. 2. Are you ready for facing an interview from these standpoint a. Domain - Do you have absolute clarity in the concepts in the area of Accounting, Finance b. Spreadsheet Skills- Do you have expertise in excel where you can make financial models, perform financial analysis. c. Soft Skill- Have you practised the interview in your mind multiple times. This allows you to think of questions that can be asked and prepare for the same. If answer to all of the above is yes, you are on right path to get a job in your dream company. If no, develop a plan to work on these areas. If you work 2-3 hours dedicatedly each day for 6 months, there is a chance of you getting your dream job. #accounting #finance #jobs #graduates
