AMR (anti-microbial resistance), where antibiotics are becoming less effective over time, is a top WHO risk impacting human health. New and existing vaccines can help prevent infections from happening in the first place. This can slow the spread of diseases and potentially reduce the need for antibiotics. We all have a role to play in protecting human health. #PfizerProud #PFEColleague

Have you ever wondered what the world would look like if antibiotics stopped working entirely? Imagine a future where a simple cut or infection could lead to death. I know we don't want this reality, let's do better.😫 So, what can you do to help combat antimicrobial resistance? ⚕️Only use antibiotics when prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional. ⚕️Never pressure your doctor to prescribe antibiotics, and always follow their instructions carefully. ⚕️Finish the full course of treatment, even if you feel better, and never share antibiotics with others. ⚕️Beyond medication, focus on preventing infections in the first place by practicing good hygiene, getting vaccinated, and eating safe, properly prepared food... Remember that saying that prevention is better than cure. Let's continue to fight against Antimicrobial Resistance.⚕️💪 VoiceOver by Adenike Sulaimon. #AntimicrobialResistance #AMR #HealthAwareness #FightAMR #GlobalHealth #Antibiotics #PublicHealth #HealthEducation #InfectionPrevention #PreventionIsBetterThanCure #StayHealthy #ResponsibleUseOfAntibiotics #StopAMR

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is directly responsible for 1.3 million deaths and a contributing factor to five million other fatalities every year. Everyone seems to have had a family member or friend who has either gotten seriously ill or died due to acquiring an infection that did not respond to prescribed medicines, and the underlying reason was often antimicrobial resistance. Yet, there are many ways of addressing this threat, from hygiene and sanitation to vaccination and avoiding overuse or misuse of medicines. Antimicrobial resistance is invisible, but its victims are not. Together, we have the power to stop AMR in its tracks. More from World Health Organization: https://lnkd.in/eDZGbpDR

𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐩𝐨𝐱: 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐬 🦠 The most recent confirmed case of mpox (formerly known as monkeypox) in India highlights the importance of awareness and proactive prevention. In a recent interview, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐢𝐭𝐮 𝐒𝐚𝐱𝐞𝐧𝐚, 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐨𝐤 𝐍𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐤 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥, emphasized that mpox primarily spreads through close contact, respiratory droplets, and contaminated surfaces. Key symptoms include fever, skin lesions, and swollen lymph nodes. While treatment options remain limited, early detection through testing and contact tracing is critical to preventing large-scale outbreaks. Vaccines like MVA-BN have been approved for preventive use. Public health efforts, especially in high-risk areas with limited healthcare infrastructure, remain essential. Simple measures like masking, hand hygiene, and avoiding contact with infected individuals can significantly reduce the risk. Together, we can control the spread of mpox by staying informed and vigilant. 🛡️ #MpoxAwareness #PublicHealth #PreventionIsBetter #HealthSafety #VigilanceInHealthcare
