𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥'𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐘𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 The company's achievement was credited to its growing reliance on renewable energy, marking a five-year consecutive increase. Berry Global slashed Scope 3 GHG emissions, achieving a 21% reduction compared to 2019 figures, as it progresses towards a 25% reduction target by 2025. In 2023, Berry Global significantly boosted its use of renewable electricity by 65%, notably transitioning all its operations in Mexico to wind and solar power. The company is also working alongside the Science Based Targets initiative to establish new emissions targets for Scope 1 and 2, which will be revealed in due course. Furthermore, the company has prioritized workforce development, increasing the average training hours per employee from 54 to 58. 🌿 Exciting news from The Hershey Company on their sustainability journey! In their latest ESG report, Hershey revealed that 80% of their electricity came from green sources in 2023, up from 77% in 2022. This boost is thanks to significant investments in solar power purchase agreements (PPAs) and acquiring zero emission and renewable energy credits. Notably, their PPAs in Texas and North Carolina now power approximately 25% of their U.S. operations. 🌞 By 2030, Hershey aims to source 100% of its electricity from renewable sources.
