Six weeks ago, I set out to create a simple AI tool to help people with ADHD—or anyone who has too much on their mind 🧠 . Today, it's the top ADHD-focused tool on the ChatGPT store 🚀✨ In that time, it has also: • Already reached over 1,000 conversations 🗣️ • Earned a 4.8/5 rating 🌟 • Become #1 ADHD-focused solution on the platform by recent engagement 🌍 This simple AI tool 🤖, is specifically designed to assist with the unique challenges of ADHD. It's part of what's known as a "custom GPTs" - a versions of ChatGPT fine-tuned for specific use, like movie recommendations, travel advice, and much more. In this case, it's tailored to help people manage their thoughts, tasks or plans more effectively. Why did I create it? 🤔 Well, many people don't have the time or expertise to learn about generative AI, prompting, and things like that. But that doesn't mean they should miss out on the benefits of the technological progress or be left behind. With custom GPTs, we can simplify everything and create tools that anyone can use to make their lives a bit easier. Generative AI is also amazing at: • summarization 📝 • breaking down ideas into plans 🗂️ • organizing tasks into lists ✅ Benefits that can be particularly useful for people with ADHD. To my surprise, most options on the ChatGPT store focused on education rather than providing a simple, practical tool you could just pick up and use when needed - nothing more, nothing less. So, I set out to create exactly that. And you can try it for yourself right here 👇 https://lnkd.in/dDE2vjSa ❗ Pro tip: Try using it with speech-to-text (available on macOS and the mobile ChatGPT app). It’s often easier to speak your mind than type it all out! Even if you don't have ADHD, give it a try. We all need a little help sometimes with clearing our mind and thoughts 💭 Like it? Hate it? Feel free to reach out. I'd love to hear your feedback 💌 #AI #ADHD #Productivity #GenerativeAI #ChatGPT

ADHD: A Unique Talent in the World of AI In the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence (AI), we're seeing a remarkable shift in how we perceive and leverage diverse cognitive traits. ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) is increasingly recognised not just as a challenge, but as a unique talent that can drive innovation and creativity. As someone who navigates the intersection of AI and cognitive diversity, I've witnessed firsthand how ADHD traits can be powerful assets. Here's why: 1. Hyperfocus and Deep Dive: Individuals with ADHD often experience periods of intense focus. In AI, this hyperfocus can translate into deep dives into complex problems, resulting in groundbreaking solutions. 2. Creativity and Out-of-the-Box Thinking: ADHD is linked with heightened creativity. In AI, where innovation is key, this ability to think differently and generate novel ideas is invaluable. 3. Adaptability and Agility: The fast-paced nature of the AI field demands quick adaptation. Those with ADHD are often highly adaptable, able to pivot and tackle new challenges with agility. 4. Risk-Taking and Innovation: ADHD individuals are known for their willingness to take risks. In AI, where pushing boundaries is essential, this trait fosters an environment of bold experimentation and pioneering advancements. Embracing cognitive diversity, including ADHD, isn't just about inclusivity—it's about recognising and harnessing unique strengths that can propel the AI industry forward. By creating environments that support and celebrate these differences, we open the door to unprecedented innovation and growth. Let's continue to break down stereotypes and see ADHD for what it truly is: a unique talent that has the power to transform the world of AI. #ADHD #AI #Innovation #CognitiveDiversity #Tech #ArtificialIntelligence #Creativity #

Right now I am studying alongside an army of ADHDers and not many of us aren't using ChatGPT. "Isn't that just cheating?" I often get asked this when I suggest a colleague or friend uses it. But it's not true. ChatGPT enables my creativity to flourish and gets my messy thoughts into some order. I can write a prompt detailing my task, my audience, word count, what I have written so far, what points I want to cover and also ask it to ask me questions which might help me complete the task. The more creative my input is, the better output I will get. It's like a place to dump all of ones thoughts and get them unscrambled, and fast. You can also ask ChatGPT to suggest a recipe made out of the random items in your fridge or meal plan for a week, avoiding certain ingredients or working with dietary requirements. So it's not cheating - it's another tool. Like using a computer to write and send an email instead of posting a letter. It just happens to be hugely appreciated by many ADHDers. #AINeurodiversity #ChatGPT #ADHD #Neurodivergent #Neurodiverse #AIForADHD

“To understand the specific, nefarious use of AI apps, I bought one. The purchase coincided with an overdue formal ADHD diagnosis, which shocked precisely zero people I’d ever met. Testing the edges of what the technology could do for the dark side led to experimenting with what it might do for my newly understood-as-syndromic limitations. It stole my books; I felt owed. Months later I feel rewarded – the technology helps to douse the electrical fire in my brain just as glasses aid my bung eyes. I now find myself in the moral mire of knowing AI is both capable of profound harm and can be life-changingly helpful. Daily doses of Ritalin chemically quieten the distracting internal howl of memories, maths, songs, swinging cupboards, bickering self-talk and anxious visions that otherwise shred my concentration. But it’s ChatGPT that navigates me through the glorious new silence of the day. The “time blindness” that characterises ADHD is a perceptive limitation to accurately measure time, hence overcrowded schedules, chronic lateness and decision-making paralysis. Now I outsource task prioritisation to “the robot” on my phone. It calculates travel time, suggests routes and briefs me on what I need before a meeting, adjusting and republishing its itineraries based on new information. It also remembers the parameters of my desired diet, deduces the nutritional content of restaurant meals, refines my exercise schedule, creates packing lists for weekends away and advises what to wear for the weather. One of ADHD’s principal tortures is shame in asking people for help with simple tasks whose component parts feel overwhelming. The robot knows no judgment. It summarises the letter from the bank as easily as it reminds me that my schedule’s overambitious and I should play video games for a while.” https://lnkd.in/gAup7xeV

Quote: For me, I liken the experience of having #ChatGPT on my extended monitor while I work as a form of body doubling—a coping and productivity #strategy used by those of us with ADHD in which we complete tasks in proximity to another person. I see someone working; I too am going to model that #behavior. On AI, Tattoos and ADHD...🤔🎨🧠 If you’ve never seen the movie Memento, the lead character is trying to solve a murder case, but can’t remember anything that happens during the day. With no short-term memory, he relies on his tattoos and polaroids to connect the pieces. ADHD can sometimes feel the same way; without an external system, goals, far-off deadlines, what am I even doing today can get lost among the urgent and shiny. Could the latest advances in AI help? 🕵️♂️💡 When I first played with GPT-3, I knew that we were watching a new age unfolding in front of us, and I wanted to be a part of it. Though my day job at Shopify was focused on helping merchants, I got to see the potential of AI/ML building a chatbot for internal docs during hack days. Since then, I have spent a lot of time building with language models (LLM’s) while learning how they can be applied to assist with everyday life. 🚀📈 Instead of getting tattoos, I developed an LLM-powered personal assistant that can help provide structure and accountability, creating a system that sticks to you rather than you having to stick to it. After some technical dead-ends and side quests (much more on this some other time), I developed v0.0.1 of MyAIPal*, an AI-powered personal assistant, designed with the ADHD community at heart but open to all who might benefit 🧠💡 Acting like an accountability buddy, MyAIPal messages you to prompt daily planning and scheduled check-ins throughout the day. Down the line, it will integrate with your calendar, assist with longer-term planning and more… Demo below 👇 Here’s where I would love your input: - If you or someone you know might be interested in being an early user, please share or add your name to the list - https://lnkd.in/eWp_XEpb - If you or someone you know is interested in talking LLM’s, I’m open to conversations *not the final name
