Christmas is always a great excuse for a gathering.
We had delicious cheese fondue and wine with almost everyone from the MDHUB team at Artelium Wine Estate and caught up after a hectic but exciting year.
As a hybrid team, it’s rare that we get so many of us in one room, which made our celebrations feel extra special.
Merry Christmas all, we are looking forward to a rest before another year of exceptional business support in 2025.

Nothing like a Christmas fondue with lovely people, thank you for another amazing year of highs, lows and everything in between - all the fruits of being in business! Looking forward to another great year ahead. x
NeoTaste secures €21 million in total in our Series A! 🚀
Maybe you’ve already heard about it. We’ve just closed our Series A with a total funding of €21 million, only six months after the last round!
This is a truly special moment for us, as we’ve already made our first steps into the international market and launched in every major German city!
In the last six months, nearly 2,500 restaurants have signed up to be on our platform. With currently 27 cities in total, several hundred thousand users have registered on NeoTaste, bringing eight figures of additional revenue to our partner restaurants.
Over 80 team members have made it possible for us to be Europe’s currently fastest-growing restaurant platform, and are driven to take NeoTaste to a new level, becoming a category-leading company from Germany!
It’s a joy and true pleasure to build up this idea with Hendrik, Tobias, Malte, Sönke, and the rest of the team!
Thanks to our investors Earlybird Venture Capital (Dr. Christian Nagel, Dr. Marie-Thérèse Buttlar, Timon S.), Burda Principal Investments (Julian von Eckartsberg, Friedrich von Wulffen), our team, users, and partner restaurants for being part of this journey! It means a lot! 💚
Little side note for restaurant owners: it’s a movement, and NeoTaste is completely free - don’t miss this chance! 🚀

It’s nearly a decade since Seedlip Drinks was first founded by Ben Branson in 2015 🤯.
A brand and founder that would go on to make an unforgettable impression on the drinks industry and change our collective perception of the drinking experience.
“There’s an opportunity in the next couple of years to move beyond the ABV conversation, to where it’s not about alcohol levels. We can move the conversation to being: what do you like to drink? What’s in your drink?’ asks Ben.
In really simple terms, it’s like moving ‘0.0% ABV’ from the front to the back of the bottle.”
For drinks founders, this is a *great* read as Ben sits down with The Spirits Business to dive into his newest ventures, including Pollen Projects, Seasn and the latest Seedlip innovations, as a pioneer of the non-alc category.

It was fantastic to attend this event last week and meet some of the other B Corp accredited companies in the Benelux region. 💛
The afternoon was insightful and super relevant to us BCORP newbies at yellow.global | B Corp .
Some great topics were shared, and I especially liked the presentation on the 7th Generation Principle, which talked about legacy and context. I love this idea that each decision we make should consider the impact in 7 generations' time.
In the labs, we had the chance to discuss how to engage employees on sustainability as well as wellness successfully.
My key takeaways were :
😊 Using data with empathy, i.e humanise it, will have the greatest impact on employee wellness
😊 Sitting with a problem or issue a little longer to understand the pain points might be more impactful than rushing to solutions.
😊 "Fixing" the employee isn't always the answer; focusing on what the company can change internally might unlock more possibilities.
😊 If 93% of change management programs fail- what can we do differently?
I am excited to take some of these provocations to our upcoming 2025 projects.

DO TO THE KITCHEN WHAT UBER DID TO THE CAR
LinkedIn members familiar with my posts and articles know that I believe the grocery and food industries are ready for severe disruption.
In 2013, I wrote articles, LinkedIn posts, and I spoke on podcasts about what I consider to be the Holy Grail of disruption - leverage infrastructure and robotics to reduce the cost of food production and delivery cheaper than the price of going to a grocery store to buy groceries and cook the food at home.
In the video I have attached, Travis Kalanick, co-founder of Uber, and
one of the most brilliant and influential entrepreneurs in history, outlines his vision for his company, CloudKitchens.
According to Travis, this is the opportunity:
“Can you get the preparation and delivery of food so high-quality and cost-efficient, that it starts to approach the cost of you going to the grocery store. If that happens, you do to the kitchen what Uber did to the car.”
I believe the answer is yes. I agree 100% with Kalanick as I designed nearly the exact same model. However, I desgined the model for Amazon to leverage, and Travis launched CloudKitchens. Amazon is a customer of CloudKitchens, and the relationship is growing.
Travis believes that his strength is “digitizing the physical world.” This means manufacturing, logistics and real estate. CloudKitchens has a software division and a robotics division. (A video is played in the podcast that shows the ecosystem CloudKitchens has created via their software and robotics).
I believe we are about to witness how powerful CloudKitchens ecosystem is due to their partnership with Starbucks and their new CEO Brian Niccol. Niccol wants to resore the vibe of Starbucks being the “third place.” CloudKitchens can make it a reality.
I strongly encourage Niccol to THINK BIG and push the frontier of what’s possible using robotics and automation inside CloudKitchens facilities strategically located in the majority of cities. CloudKitchens facilities can be leveraged for drinks and food preparation. Completed orders can be delivered in minutes to nearby actual Starbucks. Expanding the partnership with CloudKitchens is arguably the most strategic move Niccol can make.
Travis and CloudKitchens are creating a new model for how Americans THINK about eating, and they’re also providing the infrastructure and ecosystem to introduce new options for food. The food and grocery industries are a $2T business. Little has changed in the industries over the last 100 years. The potential impact of CloudKitchens is nearly limitless.
We are witnessing the next Uber in CloudKitchens. I encourage everyone to watch the video. I wish Travis and the team from CloudKitchens the best.
Note: I have tried to get Travis to agree to an interview but so far, I have been unable to convince Travis to do so.

Our latest content project is live! 🚀
I absolutely love working on these videos - getting away from my desk and creating this kind of content is probably my favourite part of my job.
It also helps to have a great videographer - I can explain to Quason Matthews exactly what my vision is for the video, and he brings it to life! 💫

Walking the halls of TUM - Weihenstephan once again, where my journey in brewing began, felt like reconnecting with an old friend.
At the 2024 Technology Seminar, organized by the WIB, Nikhil and I were invited to introduce fermapulse to a community eager for progress.
The Josefibock tapping event was more than just a networking evening; it was a hive of meaningful exchanges. The breweries' interest in our product was both validating and motivating.
Why do we value customer conversations so highly? 💎
Because they are the compass that guides our innovation—ensuring fermapulse is not just a concept but a solution tailored to the needs of the industry.
Our pilot is in full swing with a roster of forward-thinking breweries, and while we're at capacity, the revolution doesn't stop here.
If you're interested in being part of this digital brewing revolution, get in touch and consider joining our waitlist.
Let's explore how fermapulse can serve your brewery's future.
