We’re seeking young adults in out-of-home care (foster care) who want to join the Maryland State Youth Advisory Board (SYAB) movement. Our SYAB is a dynamic group of young leaders who are committed to shaping the future of our communities — for the youth and by the youth! As a member of the board, youth have the chance to: ✅ Collaborate with state leaders and policymakers. ✅ Advocate for out-of-home care topics that matter most to youth across Maryland. ✅ Gain valuable leadership experience and make a real impact. I have learned to create due to the absence of presence. Some may critique me for stating what appears to be obvious. And this is the reason for me welcoming conversations that go beyond an echo chamber. If the obvious is not being done, what is the reason? My goal is to help solve societal problems by continuing to operate at the intersection of data and social impact with a focus on organizational transformation and youth advocacy.
