The Science of the Positive framework is based on the core assumption that the Positive is real, it exists and is worth growing - in ourselves, our families, our workplaces and our communities (Linkenbach, 2007). This is not just about positive thinking, but is based on the concept that if we want health, we must promote health! This new view of the world profoundly impacts the questions we ask, the data we collect, and how we approach leadership. This great work is happening in communities across the country with exceptional outcomes in prevention and health promotion. #EUelections talk 🗳️🇪🇺 ⚕️ As we gear up for the upcoming legislative term, #health policy and strengthening the #EUHealthUnion will be major priorities. Improving access to #publichealth and innovation 🚑 taking a whole health and #wellbeing approach encompassing both physical and #mentalhealth 🧠 revising the EU’s general #pharmaceuticals legislation 💊 focusing on #preventive measures 🔬 digitalising healthcare to improve patient outcomes 📟... Those are several key areas the next mandate will focus on. This is exactly what we call for in our manifesto, the “European Health and Well-being Deal” - to prioritize citizens' health and well-being in the EU’s policymaking 🏛️ Here are some of our key recommendations that align with the new health-centered focus of 🇪🇺 policymakers: 🔹 Digital and Data Literacy: Building on the #AIAct and the European Health Data Space (#EHDS), we propose strategies to enhance digital and #dataliteracy for medical professionals and citizens, addressing skills shortages through digital solutions in response to rapid technological changes 🚀 🔹 Preventive Policies Hub: We call for the establishment of a European Hub for preventive policies that gathers experts from various sectors and agencies to provide a comprehensive overview of systemic risks, treat well-being and healthcare expenditure as investments, and ensure the thorough implementation initiatives such as the European Beating Cancer Plan initiatives 🦠 🔹 Increased Healthcare Funding: We advocate for a structural increase in healthcare funding across the EU to improve infrastructure, train healthcare professionals, and enhance access to essential medicines, positioning Europe as a leader in research and development 💶 🔹 Harnessing Metadata: We recommend using #metadata to understand societal megatrends, threats, and interlinks, guiding the EU in building a cross-sectoral, long-term vision to address societal vulnerabilities 📈 Health and well-being are areas to watch, that’s why we're working on numerous initiatives, from workshops and policy papers to video campaigns covering these topics and more - so stay tuned! 👀 In the meantime, check out our manifesto to learn more about the kind of Europe and EU Health Union we envision 💜👇 https://lnkd.in/dKRmGBKd
Since its creation in the middle of the pandemic, our European #HealthUnion has been striving to make health of our citizens a top priority. We have been delivering on this promise through different aspects, including: - Better preparation and response to health threats - Better access to affordable and innovative medicines for all EU citizens 💊 - Modernised healthcare thanks to digital innovations 📱 - A comprehensive approach to 🧠 mental health - World leading🎗️#EUCancerPlan #EUDelivers
