The green transition is upon us, and economic clusters from Tuscany to Tirupur need to brace for both the risks and opportunities this brings. In this new perspective piece, we argue that Governments can play an important role, with two strategies: ·  The 'Safeguard' Strategy => Governments can support existing clusters evolve, optimize for resilience, and support them to continue to thrive through the change. ·  The ‘Spark’ Strategy => Governments can spur new opportunities for economic clusters by helping them realize their emerging green competitive advantage. Our data shows that over 200 cleantech investments were made in Sweden in 2023 alone — a clear testament to the strength of Swedish industry. This opportunity, however, is far from guaranteed. Without a clear industrial policy, Sweden risks losing its chance of becoming a major player – and winner – in the global climate transition. 🏆 The green transition is capital intensive and consists of extended timelines, but we need to view these investments as part of a broader, long-term strategy. Very impressed by the innovation of companies and organizations in the tradeshow and pitch competitors. Is Latin America ready for #ClimateTech? Last week's VC LATAM SUMMIT panel, moderated by Edgar Adrián Parra, discussed the region's readiness to lead this important shift.
