🌟 Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month: Let’s Break the Stigma! 🌟 June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s essential that we all play a part in supporting the well-being of the men in our lives. 💙 👉 Why is this important? Men often face societal pressure to be stoic and hide their emotions. Let’s change that narrative! By openly discussing mental health, we can break down barriers and encourage men to seek help when needed. 👉 How can you contribute? Spread Awareness: Let your network know about Men’s Mental Health Month. Listen: Be there for the men around you. Sometimes, a simple conversation can make a significant impact. Support Charities: Consider donating to mental health organisations that focus on men’s well-being. Remember, supporting men’s mental health isn’t limited to June—it’s a year-round commitment. Let’s create a more compassionate world together! 💪 #MensMentalHealth #BreakTheStigma #WellBeingMatters

As we approach the end of financial year, a renewed focus on mental health has never been more pressing. While I take a brief pause in my career to spend quality time with my boy as a stay at home dad, this will be front of mind. Our time is precious. If you or anyone you know has struggled with mental health I encourage you to support a worthy cause with us at ACOR Consultants. #pushupchallenge #mentalhealthawareness

This Mental Health Awareness Week, let's remember that mental health is a year-round concern. Tragically mental health is a disease that took both my mother and sister (30 years apart). While there have been positive strides taken, unfortunately, mental health issues still carry a taboo, making it difficult for people to talk openly about their struggles. But it's important to know that it's okay to not be okay. Stress and anxiety are not signs of weakness, and we must be kind to ourselves and those around us. As professionals, many of us feel pressure to maintain a positive exterior, which can be tough when dealing with personal challenges. That's why it's essential to check in with our colleagues, friends, and loved ones regularly. Just because you're not currently struggling doesn't mean someone close to you isn't. So, take a moment to ask them how they're doing today. It is ok to not be ok and, stress and anxiety is not a sign of weakness, especially in today's 'always on' society. Let's break the stigma around mental health and support each other, not just this week, but every week of the year. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #depressionawareness #mentalhealthawarenessmonth #mentalhealthmatters Text Shout UK on 85258 Call Mind on 0300 1123 3393 Call Samaritans: 116 123 SOS Silence of Suicide on 0808 115 1505 PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide on 0800 068 4141 or Text 88247 Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) on 0800 58 58 58

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re supporting the Mental Health Foundation to get everyone moving more for their mental health. One of the most important things we can do to help protect our mental health is regular movement. Our bodies and our minds are connected. Looking after ourselves physically also helps us prevent problems with our mental health. Movement is a great way to enhance our wellbeing. Even a short burst of 10 minutes’ brisk walking can boost our mood and increase our mental alertness and energy. Movement helps us feel better about our bodies and improve self-esteem. It can also help reduce stress and anxiety and help us to sleep better. At Haybury we are running a month-long walking challenge to encourage us all to get out in the fresh air with our team. Everyone can get the mental health benefits of moving more, it’s all about finding what works for you. Always good to #talk Effective communication is a cornerstone of resolving even the smallest of struggles, regardless of whether one leans towards being an extrovert or introvert. Taking the time to engage in a brief catch-up, lasting only a couple of minutes, can hold immense value for someone in need. By making room in our schedules to talk and share, we create opportunities to uplift and support those around us. Remember, a simple conversation can often be the key to solving problems and fostering connections that can mean the world to others. #MentalHealthAwarnessWeek

Today is the first day of #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Take time to do something nice for yourself, something that makes you happy be it a walk in the sunshine, a hug for a friend or putting on your favourite socks. Maybe you should ask a colleague how they are doing? Remember that not all mental health struggles are visible, so #BeKind to each other. Are you based in the Leeds or West Yorkshire area? Would you like to hear my keynote talk: "How to Cope with the 'S' Word"? I'm delighted to have been invited by Deborah Whitaker to speak at the Not Just Numbers Ltd networking event taking, place on Wednesday 5th June 2024 at Carrwood Park, Leeds. I have delivered this talk to audiences globally, helping to break down the stigma surrounding suicide by explaining how you can spot the signs that someone is struggling and how to have a conversation which could save their life. Key takeaways: ✅An understanding of the current mental health and suicide prevention landscape. ✅How to recognise the circumstances which lead some people to consider suicide. ✅How we can break down the myths and stigma around mental health and suicide. ✅Recognition that although suicide can affect anyone, everyone can play a role in schools, communities and workplaces to prevent suicides ✅What to say and do when confronted with someone who is feeling suicidal ✅The importance of looking after your own wellbeing and tips to takeaway on how to do this Spaces are limited so the organisers are asking that you book your place early. They are also asking for a £10 donation when you book, which will go in full to support the work we do at The Jordan Legacy CIC. 👉Book via this Eventbrite page link: https://lnkd.in/ePWxYy2p I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there on June 5th. #Suicideprevention #MentalHealth #Wellbeing

World Mental Health Day: Let's prioritize mental health. Today, we remember that mental health is a universal human right. Let's work together to reduce stigma, promote understanding, and advocate for access to quality mental health care for all. How can we support mental health? Check in with your loved ones. Ask how they're doing and offer a listening ear. Normalize conversations about mental health. Talk openly about your own experiences and challenges. Seek professional help if needed. Encourage friends and family to seek help from qualified mental health professionals. Support organizations working to improve mental health access. Donate to or volunteer for mental health charities. Together, we can build a more supportive and inclusive world for everyone.
