This is a terrific story about the green energy showcase at the Halifax Chamber of Commerce’s annual fall dinner last week. The presentation put a spotlight on the Dalhousie University Clean Technologies Research Institute featuring Matt Borys from EverWind Fuels and Sarah Martell from Dalhousie. Sarah summarized very well the possibility and potential that green hydrogen and other green energy could mean for Nova Scotia’s future: "This is a place that has built ships, dug coal, cultivated forests — and now we’re taking the lead in figuring out how to fuel a better life for everyone... Whether you’re already connected into the green energy industry or not, this is an emerging economy where there’s space for everyone to get involved.” The Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance couldn’t agree more!

Jeff Dahn, pioneer in lithium-ion battery technology, took part in this event and discussed the opportunities in “V2G” — vehicle-to-grid. “When the vehicle is plugged in, it can store energy from the sun or the wind and deliver it back to the grid when those are not available.” 2022 #KillamPrize #engineering https://lnkd.in/e8ppRcR3

I finally made it !! After 1 year of grind, working on code, building algorithms, and testing, my project partner and I completed our project on the "Energy Management Tool for Energy Vectors - Performing Forecasting & Demand Response using ML" which demonstrates the potential of Machine Learning in optimizing renewable energy systems. By effectively forecasting energy production and implementing DR strategies, this tool contributes to the efficient and sustainable use of Wind and PV resources. The research is done for 4 locations - Ghoramara, Keonjhar, Bornholm and Kythnos. As we move towards a greener future, such innovative solutions are essential in harnessing the full potential of renewable energy. I remember bicycling 3kms to get the thesis printed and spending hours in the department at 43 degrees, making ppts till 4 am, and having multiple burnouts, feels like it was all worth it when I held the thesis in my hand. To everyone who gave their best and showed up, give yourself a pat man because you did everything you could (being an undergrad student with little knowledge about research) and completed it :)

I've just completed the course 'Energy Storage Technologies: From Chemistry to Engineering,' which provided in-depth insights into various energy storage systems, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and green hydrogen technology. 🚀

Just completed one of my favourite courses, the Energy Literacy Course by Energy Swaraj Foundation! This course provided me with a wealth of information about energy, including its generation, consumption, wastage, and impact on the environment. I am now well-versed in energy literacy and excited to apply this knowledge to my personal and professional life.
