Interesting session yesterday expertly moderated by Tom Attenborough, (who will be in Singapore for meetings with me in mid-April), on the very exciting changes coming to the London Stock Exchange's Main Market Rules later this year, on the back of the FCA's Primary Markets Effectiveness Review. I encourage people to watch back at link below. Quick summary of what we're expecting: · New Single Segment, no more premium and standard. · Simpler eligibility criteria and listing requirements. · Simpler significant transaction process, no more shareholder approval. · A shift to a more disclosure based regime, with a renewed emphasis on comply or EXPLAIN. · A potential step up for some Standard listed issuers, but also opportunities to potentially from benefit index inclusion. · A new secondary listing segment, for international companies, which will allow for a much more simple process to have a secondary listing in London for companies from IOSCO MMoU signatories (list of 155 jurisdictions here: https://lnkd.in/gn2UZFkB) The discussion also covered the positioning of AIM and the Main Market, and the wider reform agenda, with changes coming to the prospectus regime, research and what more is to come. Get in touch if you would like to discuss in more detail. https://lnkd.in/gNWpgU-x

Derivatives and Global Investing It was a great couple of days attending the EQDerivatives, Inc conference in Singapore. As portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation evolve, derivatives are taking on ever increasing importance as a source of both hedging and alpha generation. They are also a powerful tool to trade volatility around increasingly frequent macro and geopolitical events. Among retail investors, derivatives trading has exploded in the West in recent years and certain Asian markets are now taking off too driven by improved market access. In my investing I’ve been very active in single stock equity options this year as the strategies I’ve deployed have helped to enhance income and gain exposure to high quality stocks. My main conclusion from the conference and from my experience of using derivatives is to adopt a measured and consistent approach, know your risk and leverage limits. Used appropriately, they can be a valuable tool for enhancing returns. Used inappropriately they can be weapons of financial destruction as characterized by Warren Buffett. #derivatives #equities #equityoptions #asia #singapore Eurex Cboe Global Markets Susquehanna International Group SGX Group
