🌟Swooperstar Spotlight: Declan, Chief Operations Officer 🌟 𝙃𝙞 𝘿𝙚𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙣, 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙪𝙨 𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛? I moved to our wonderful state 18 years ago and I'm loving it! We have raised my two children in Adelaide and certainly feel like we are becoming part of the fabric. I have enjoyed all that Adelaide and SA has got to offer - whether it is participating in the Variety Bash, taking the kids on adventures in the outback (Melrose through to Blinman), playing for and supporting my beloved Burnside Rugby Club, or barracking for my adopted AFL team, Port Adelaide. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙬𝙤𝙤𝙥? I owned and ran my own telecommunications company for over 13 years, and after selling that company I was looking for my next challenge and opportunity.  What I found in Swoop was a "tribe". A group of like-minded people who dare to be different and look at creating magic together. The company is all about growth and opportunity and I think this team has it in abundance. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙟𝙤𝙗? I love watching people grow.  My purpose has been clear for a while in leadership, which is to support people to grow beyond their wildest imagination. Swoop provides for me the platform and the ability to help all of our staff and our customers to have a better telco experience. TEAM. I, and my Firm’s page, are about to wax nostalgic because we’ve reached a few very cool milestones: e.g., total number of years in business as NG and the number of years growing our brand with The Bravitas Group Inc. . So, stay tuned for more about that. For this introductory missive , I’ll focus on Team culture. I recall adding the following to my business plan two decades ago: I want to work on projects about which I care with people I enjoy working. I recall a couple of folks questioning this. 🤷🏽♂️ While I can’t attest to the business savvy of that clause in my Plan, I sure can profess to the success of the culture I worked to inculcate. We are a small but mighty Team. We have chemistry and talent in the office that yields incredible service/products. Additionally, we have chemistry outside of the office that creates a very special bond. Team members typically stay for extended periods and when they move on it is with support for the pursuit of their dreams. AND along the way, genuine friendships are born. For example, Joseph Daguman (Big Joe Dagz pictured here) was one of the first three members of my Team. Somewhere along the way the work relationship blossomed into a friendship. He’s been in Cali for almost seven years and not a week goes by that he, Gerard M. Haizel, PP, AICP and I don’t check-in with one another. This weekend, I had the honor of representing the NG Team at Big Joe Dagz’s wedding and I was reminded of just how special my Team is…how special our relationships are…how incredibly fortunate I am! How does one define the “bottom line” in business? Is it a ledger entry? Or a culture of fulfillment and success? I chose the latter. TEAM TALK - VOL. 5 🖐️ Everyone, say hi to Dan (our go-to, always-up-to-the-task man). 🤜🤛 Today, we’re shining a spotlight on our Head of Business Development, Daniel Hall. Dan joined the Farosian team just over five years ago and quickly became a key pillar within our company after showcasing his skills and unwavering tenacity in sales and business development. Dan is part of Farosian’s furniture and has played a vital role in building our company from the ground up, learning a lot about business and himself along the way. When Dan is not hard at work, you can find him running on the beach with his dogs (otherwise known as his children) or cheering on his favourite football teams, which, judging by his weekly updates in our team meetings, don’t seem to be doing so well. ⚽️ Fun fact about Dan: he is a dad-joke connoisseur. I just wanted to extend a huge thank you to Northern Powergrid for hosting the most fabulous #WorkExperience day for Zak Martin this week. Special thanks go to Mikolaj Kukawski for reaching out and making it happen, Zak had the best day and thoroughly enjoyed sharing his amazing knowledge again. Watching the linesmen from Circet IRE & UK in action, was incredible, what a team. They also spent time chatting to Zak, after they’d completed their project. We certainly packed lots into the day and met some great people, thanks to each and every one of you for your kindness and time. It’s companies and individuals like this who make such a difference to #Autistic people like Zak. People who go the extra mile to include and provide #Support based around their #SpecialInterests, it certainly boosted his #MentalHealth. I think it’s fair to say that Zak, as usual impressed everyone he met with his outstanding knowledge. We now need to find a company who see his #value, embrace his talent and find him a #WorkPlacement, to utilise his unique skills, so that we can step into the next part of his journey.
