In celebration of my 6-year journey with Amador Club / Wingtip, I'm taking a moment on the 6 days leading up to my anniversary on June 6th to reflect on some cherished projects and aspects of my role. For the first post, I want to kick things off by shining a spotlight on the team. Personally, there's nothing more fulfilling to me than making people feel seen and celebrated, which is why this aspect of my job holds a special place in my heart. Here's how we make it happen: 🖥️ TEAM PAGE: Our website features a dedicated page that showcases every member of our team. I'll never forget the gratitude expressed by someone who reached out via our inquiry form, expressing how much they valued seeing everyone, from front of house to the back of house. Every member of the team helps make this organization run and deserves to be recognized and celebrated. 📱 #WEAREWINGTIP: Through social media posts and newsletter write-ups, we highlight our team members and the things that make them unique. The focus is more on who they are as people instead of their resume. Here you might find their go-to karaoke song or a story on their most memorable meals. Because as we know and acknowledge, we are more than our jobs. ✏️ HANDWRITTEN NOTES: The power of a handwritten note remains unparalleled. While some may dismiss it as cheesy, there's immense value in the simple act of acknowledging someone's birthday or expressing gratitude for their contributions. It's these small gestures that can truly brighten someone's day and foster a sense of belonging within our team. As I look back on these moments, I'm reminded of the incredible bonds that unite us. 20 years ago, Dan Adams walked through the doors for his first day of work at J-U-B. Since then, The Langdon Group has blossomed into an organization unlike any other! Through his guidance and vision, TLG has become an industry leader and continues to provide a unique service that helps our communities solve problems and implement solutions. The Langdon Group as we know it, is because of Dan. 🧡 Give him a big pat on the back if you see him, but not too big . . . these 20 years have taken their toll! Congratulations on your 20-year anniversary! 🥳 🧡 What do you enjoy most about your role at TLG? I am really enjoying being a discipline lead and supporting the team. It is fun to have the years of experience I do at this point and to be able to leverage my network and connections to help J-U-B folks work with challenging clients, agencies, and tough issues. We are working on some of the gnarliest natural resource, infrastructure, and public policy issues of the western United States and that is really fun. 🧡 What advice would you give to someone who is just starting in your role or department? Be continually curious. Develop relationships. Deeply care about the needs and interests of those you serve. Be fearless and take any assignment that comes your way and seek to add value. Be humble. Be patient. Have an outward mindset and don’t waste time ruminating. 🧡 Can you share a recent accomplishment or success story from your work?  I had a goal for a couple of years to write a peer reviewed article and get published. Last year I co-wrote a paper on ‘wicked problem solving’ with a key stakeholder from one of the biggest issues we are working on, and we got published. It was really fun and made me think. 🧡 What are some of your favorite hobbies or activities outside of work?  Braiding rawhide for traditional horse/tack. Horseback riding/roping. Competitively shoot in the Precision Rifle Series. Upland bird hunting (time with my dogs). Road biking. Fly tying and fly fishing. Smoking brisket. Playing with my grandson.
