LinkedIn seems to have an abundance of recruiters positing everyday, yet it seems like the same positions are being advertised for months even years at a time. Are these positions too hard to fill? Are we looking for candidates who are perfect on paper? Or when candidates finally find out what the salary is, is it not worth the mile long list of duties and qualifications that come with it? There is something broken with the recruiting process on LinkedIn. I was laid off a couple of years ago and can personally speak to the frustration of being qualified/over qualified for a role and never hearing back on 95%+ of applications I submitted and then even being ghosted after completing five interviews for one role (never even received an email that the company was going with another candidate). Job seekers are looking for a means to support themselves/families and now seem to be at the mercy of an AI algorithm or overworked/underpaid recruiting team. Something needs to change…

Hello! We're looking to fill 2 senior engineering roles and one account executive role at Spexi. It's early days over here! These will be high impact roles. Here's a snapshot of what's on our team's plate: * Geospatial data processing - building a standard data layer yet remaining flexible to support innovators doing novel forms of processing * Asymmetrical marketplace - one side is high-write, one side is high-read, and each has very different audiences in mind * Securing a platform full of user-generated content where data quality must be verified, tamper-proof, and filtered for privacy * Drone SDK integration so that our automated flight plans capture high quality data as safely and efficiently as possible * Decentralization - timing and judgement regarding systems that need to change rapidly vs systems that need to formalize protocol * Implementing robust CI/CD pipelines so that we can develop against a wide surface area effectively as a lean team It's worthwhile work! The impact has already been felt by local governments asking for our help as they respond to natural disasters such as the Chilcotin landslide and the Kelowna wildfires. Interested?
