DAY 19 Micro politics of Mobility: examining the impact of European externalization policies on migration dynamics in sub-saharan Africa As our thoughtful discussion continues, I believe reflecting on insights gained and next steps is worthwhile. For nearly three weeks we have engaged in respectful analysis of this complex issue from diverse angles and perspectives. Chief among the understandings reached is the potential for community-driven solutions when grassroots stakeholders are empowered as experts of their own realities. Initiatives upholding dignity through tailored, collaborative approaches show promise if adequately resourced. By focusing on Nouadhibou's model integrating circular migration, skills training and local economic development, we have identified several adaptable practices. Key lessons around participatory program design, multi-level partnerships and organic evolution through feedback can help strengthen similar initiatives. Moving forward, maintaining open and learning postures remains important. Priorities for ongoing work include facilitating knowledge-sharing between communities, exploring sustainable funding models, and fostering policy environments supportive of grassroots leadership. While more understanding is still needed, meaningful progress emerges when we approach issues as fellow travelers seeking dignified answers together. Our shared humanity offers hope that with open dialogue, equitable solutions come into focus.

🇺🇳 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 🇪🇺 Truly a pleasure to be invited as a guest speaker at the United Nations in Geneva on behalf of Circle of Sustainable Europe (CoSE). 💡 The discussion was about how Sustainable Development, Digital Communications and Civic Participation play a crucial role in preventing and rebuilding wars and conflicts by addressing the root causes of instability and fostering conditions for peace and resilience. ♻️ This puts our work at Circle of Sustainable Europe (CoSE) into a new light combined with the ongoing conflicts currently going. Therefore, the goal of this discussion was to showcase some of our examples on how EU-project frameworks, its aims and management can support in rehabilitation and recovery. 🏘 Therefore, an holistic approach that addresses the interconnected economic, social, and environmental dimensions of conflict is needed per region in; ▶️ Building Resilient Communities: Sustainable development emphasizes building resilient communities capable of withstanding shocks and stresses. ▶️ Addressing Socioeconomic Inequalities: Sustainable development aims to reduce poverty, inequality, and marginalization, which are often underlying factors in conflicts. ▶️ Building Resilient Communities: Sustainable development emphasizes building resilient communities capable of withstanding shocks and stresses. ▶️ Fostering Cross-border Cooperation: Sustainable development encourages regional cooperation and collaboration on shared challenges such as environmental conservation, economic development, and infrastructure. ▶️ Supporting Post-Conflict Reconstruction: In post-conflict settings, sustainable development plays a vital role in rebuilding infrastructure, restoring essential services, and supporting livelihoods to facilitate recovery and reconciliation. 🇨🇭 After the event, it was time to network with fellow changemakers, experts and policymakers in this field. And ofcourse, a bit of enjoyment in beautiful Geneva, Switzerland. 🤝 If you are working in the field of EU-project management or any field related to it and want to reach out? Feel free to do so! #Conflict #War #UN #United #Nations #Geneva #Arab #European #Forum
