As an advocate at Donya Justice Network Kenya, I have witnessed how societal challenges affect people across all ages, from the elderly to the youth. Today, our teens are facing a crisis—navigating love, relationships, and sex in ways that often put their health, education, and future at risk. The Risks Are Alarming Unprotected sex, ignorance about STDs, and societal pressure have driven many young people into depression, regret, and even suicide. Many are neglecting safe practices, leaving condoms aside, and prioritizing fleeting solutions over their long-term well-being. As a society, we cannot turn a blind eye. The rise of issues like transactional relationships ('mubaba' or 'mumama') and the stigma around sexual identity are eroding the foundation of a healthy, informed generation. Why We Must Act We cannot afford to lose this generation. It’s time to stand together to promote safe sex education, open conversations, and mental health awareness. The youth need our guidance and support to protect their health, dignity, and dreams. Let’s Speak Up Every voice matters. Every action counts. Together, we can create a future where our youth thrive, just as we fight for the rights and dignity of the elderly. Will you join me in standing up for our teens and youths today? #YouthEmpowerment #SafeSexEducation #MentalHealthAwareness #Advocacy #DonyaJusticeNetworkKenya
Of course yes, it is a risk to our teens, yes, it's making them bring lives to an end. Love, sex and relationships. Young boys and girls have already dived into the dating and marriage world. They already have intimate partners. Education is not bothering them. They believe finding love is enough to keep their lives rolling smoothly. 'mubaba' or 'mumama' is amongst the best solution. Youths don't give a hoot about STDs being in their bodies until it truly happens. That's when they fall into regrets and depression that has a very high chance of ending up in suicide. Condoms have been kept aside and unprotected sex has taken the position. Lesbianism and Gayism is taking over. We are loosing the generation slowly by slowly without noticing it. Will you continue resting when our youths are loosing track. Don't you feel you have a great role to play in saving the teens and youths?
