Mental Model: Peak-End Rule Did you know? Users judge an experience based on two things: 1️⃣ The peak (most intense moment) 2️⃣ The end (how it concludes) This is the Peak-End Rule. Make the most critical moments in your app amazing, and ensure the last interaction leaves a positive impression. ✨ Question: What was your last great digital experience, and why? #UXPsychology #MentalModels #PeakEndRule

🧠 Ben’s Friday Psych Bite: Familiarity Bias Ever feel like you instinctively know how to use a new app without a tutorial? You’re not alone, Familiarity Bias is at play! People naturally gravitate toward experiences that feel familiar. When you switch between your five different streaming apps, notice how the layout and controls feel nearly identical? That’s no coincidence, Familiarity Bias ensures we prefer things that don’t require much mental effort to figure out. Consider this: Could you imagine a different icon for “Play”? Would progress bars work if they didn’t use a familiar, linear line? And would “Episodic Videos” be as easy to find as “TV Shows”? Probably not—because these patterns are ingrained in our minds through years of use. So how can you use this when designing your next product feature? 👉 Start by thinking about the task at hand. How have users completed this before? 👀 Look beyond apps, how is this task done in everyday life? ▶️ Are there universal symbols or processes tied to this task? Remember, there’s no need to reinvent the wheel. Sometimes, sticking to what people already know is the key to success. #ux #psychology #product #design #designthinking Illustration by Jake Fleming

🚀 In 2010, YouTube had 800M active users streaming over 2B videos daily, but internally, they were flying blind about user behavior. This tweet explains their journey to unravel the mystery behind the user behavior: https://lnkd.in/eP8H9m-Z A game-changer was when Kerry Rodden, Google’s first Quantitative UX Researcher, joined YouTube and asked the crucial question: "How are people actually using YouTube?" Kerry’s insights showed that less than half of sessions started on the homepage, prompting them to pivot towards personalized recommendations. This shift was pivotal in making YouTube a leading mobile video app. This story is a testament to the power of understanding users. Data-driven insights not only illuminate user behavior but can also transform products and strategies. 🔍📊 Remember, understanding your users qualitatively and quantitatively can reveal gaps, unexpected behaviors, and opportunities for innovation. #UserExperience #DataDriven #ProductInnovation #YouTubeTransformation #UXResearch

The Information Architecture (IA) of the MoodCare Mood Tracker App is designed to create an intuitive and seamless user experience by logically organizing the app’s features and content. The IA focuses on making core functions like mood logging, AI-based exercises, daily tips, and therapist access easily accessible while providing a clean, minimalistic navigation structure. The structure is on a minimal level, as we're only putting more focus into the main features of the app. Next up, we will be moving onto the wireframing phase of the case study Open for design gigs 🤝 #uxfoundry #informationarchitecture #uxcasestudy #career #userresearch

Keep you user informed before they click away 📢 Quick reminder from me... I have been making major changes with Shots: Events & Parties and it's loading speed (Should be releasing an update very soon!). I found users would click away/ attempt to refresh after 2 or 3 seconds of being faced with a loading circle. This is obviously not a good thing! Often making loading longer. -> Watch the attached video and cover the right half -> Watch the attached video and covert he left half Notice a difference? Both take 6 seconds One of the circles heuristically informs you how long is left. The other feels like it could load forever. Hopefully that illustrates my point... keep your users happy and, most importantly, on the app! I understand this can't be always be applied, just think about where it could be! #ux #loading #tips

🌀 The Art of Microinteractions: Small Touches Make Big Impacts! 🌀 Imagine your favorite app as a lively conversation partner 🤝. Every tiny interaction is a refreshing nod, a wink, or a smile that keeps you engaged. 🎨 Positive Microinteractions: When designed thoughtfully, they guide users through journeys with ease 🌈. A simple button animation can turn a mundane tap into an exciting experience 🚀. It's like that perfect compliment that brightens your day. 💔 Negative Microinteractions: Conversely, poorly designed feedback can leave you frustrated 😩. An unresponsive button feels like being ignored in a crowded room 🌌. Small slips in usability can snowball, pushing users away from what you’ve created. #Microinteractions #UXDesign #UserExperience #DesignThinking #UI #Engagement #HumanCenteredDesign #DigitalInteractions #AppDesign #UserJourney #Usability #UserFeedback #DesignMatters #InteractionDesign #ContinuousImprovement #DigitalExperience
