On Saturday night we met with some of our new team from BEP to celebrate the partnership between My Purchasing Partner and Buyers Edge Platform 🌟
After a ride on a traditional red bus taking in the sights of London 🇬🇧 we enjoyed a delicious meal at The Ivy Collection Tower Bridge while getting to know our new colleagues and celebrating the exciting news! 🎉
Why it’s all about the team.
In hospitality, you quickly realise that great service isn’t just about the food or drinks
It’s about the people you work with.
I’ve been lucky enough to see how a strong, committed team can turn a chaotic night into a smooth service. It’s not about one person shining
It’s about everyone pulling together.
That’s what I’ve always valued in this industry.
Whether it’s working behind the bar or leading a team, the relationships you build with the people next to you are what make all the difference.
You can have the best training or the most high-end venue, but if the team isn’t connected and supporting each other, it’s just not the same.
What’s something you’ve learned from working with an amazing team?
Nothing more critical to drive talent retention that starting, from day 1, to teach the ropes of your culture and values.
When companies put more focus in onboarding their new employees as part of the #EmployeeExperience, they maximize their engagement and can identify quicker in the journey if the new talent is well fitted to succeed.
Aldi's culture of "curiosity," encouraging new employees to "ask questions" have important ramifications not only from an employee engagement, but directly impacting the #CustomerExperience :
1. Curiosity drives innovation. When your talent is curious, they are eager to learn and improve processes.
2. Curiosity drives empathy. When your talent is curious, they socialize with other members, they embrace differences and they build relationships that help them not only develop themselves, but to develop others.
3. Curiosity drives humbleness. When your talent is curious, they know they don't know all, and when they are asked by others, they are humble to show what they know.
#HumanExperience = #CustomerExperience + #EmployeeExperience#HX#CX#EXRamon Portilla
Welcome new and potential ALDI team members! ✨
Here's the scoop: embrace the hustle, never be afraid to ask questions and scanning speed will come with time and practice. Your journey starts now and it's going to be a fun and rewarding ride! https://bit.ly/4eBX1IL
Looking back at some of the big wins we’ve had recently, one thing stands out: teamwork. And by teamwork, I don’t just mean the people in the office.
It’s our suppliers, who always deliver when it matters most, and visits our office all the way from Asia when important tasks has to be finalized (like Mu'ain Fazli on the photo did recently). It’s our logistics partners, who make the impossible happen under tight deadlines. And it’s our clients, who trust us and work with us to make things better.
Whether it’s winning an important contract, navigating a complex tender, or tackling last-minute challenges, it’s never just one person or one team, it’s everyone working together.
To everyone who plays a part in this journey: thank you.
What does teamwork mean to you?
Great Service is All About Teamwork and Positive Energy
In hospitality it’s not just what we do but how we make others feel A strong team and good energy can turn any night into a great one.
Here’s what teamwork and positive vibes mean to me
1. Share What You Know
When everyone’s on the same page about wines the menu and the plan the service flows better.
2. Help Each Other Out
Running food covering for someone or just lending a hand makes a big difference.
3. Bring Positive Energy
A smile staying calm or saying we’ve got this can lift everyone’s spirits guests notice that too.
4. Stay Cool Under Pressure
Busy nights happen but good communication and positive vibes keep things on track.
5. Celebrate the Wins
At the end of the night it’s not about one person it’s about what we achieved as a team.
Teamwork and positivity make everything better.
What do making a cup of coffee and creating a team have in common?
Many factors are at play.
First is the type of coffee you're making: espresso, doppio, moka, V60, cappuccino, latte, americano, ristretto... so starting with what you're brewing will help understand what kind of people are needed.
Starting with the question: What am I doing? What end result am I aiming for? This will provide insights into what kind of team is needed.
How does this apply to an existing team?

Ever wondered what it looks like when ALDI SÜD kicks off a Move Challenge?🚶♀️
In addition to my little happy dance (of course in my ALDImania shirt), I’d like to share some insights into the challenge. The Move Challenge started on September 1st and will run 3 months. The goal? To collect as many steps as possible as a team. To participate, you need to form a team of at least four colleagues. Our team is called "Holy Walkamolies" and I’m happy to have Radha Mehta, Jonas Dreifeld and Marc Joest in my team. A total of 84 teams from ALDI SÜD are participating, and everything is tracked through the Changers Fit app. You can see which team is in the lead and even where you personally rank. 🏅
So, what’s in it for me personally, and how does it benefit our work?
We all know the feeling—sitting in meetings all day, and by the evening, it's tough to find the motivation to move. This challenge motivates you to take some meetings while walking on a walking pad, strolling around your apartment, or going for an extra walk after work.
And does ALDI benefit from this as well? I’d say yes. It strengthens team spirit and helps us do something good for our bodies. Today, I went for an evening walk with two colleagues at Kemnader See.
Will I manage to increase my average step count? I’ll share my final thoughts at the end of the challenge.
Special shoutout to my teammate, Jonas Dreifeld, who’s already walked over 40km in just three days! 👏
To my colleagues, what's your team name? That way, I'll know who we need to beat in the rankings!

🚀 It’s always beneficial to travel from one end of the country to the other to enhance our skills. Today, we had a fantastic Best Practice day where Michael Høgsholt Rasmussen and I visited our talented employees. We shared our experiences and insights on store operations. It has been an inspiring day filled with ideas on how we can optimize our work with attractive stores and strengthen our collaboration. #BestPractice#StoreOperations#Teamwork

Bringing Teams Together, One Crazy Flavour at a Time! 🥤
In the fast-paced world, it's crucial to find ways to bond as a team. While some might opt for traditional team-building exercises, our team enjoys something a bit more unconventional...
Trying unique flavoured snacks and drinks, like Hot and Sour Lemon Braised Feet Lays and Flaming DEW! 🎉 🤣
Whether it's the latest crazy concoction of spicy pickle chips or a soda flavour that defies description, every now and then, we love taking 15 minutes out of our day with these eccentric treats.
It's a quirky way to take us out of our comfort zones, help us build stronger connections, and create a fun, collaborative environment. After all, a team that can bond over trying the most bizarre flavours can tackle any challenge that comes our way.
Here’s to finding joy in the unexpected and fueling our creative spirits with a side of laughter! 🥳💪
