Greatness is not what you are given but turning challenges into opportunities. From an early age, Srikanth faced prejudice of being blind and relatives dismissing him without knowing what he was capable of. Raised in Seetharamapuram, Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth Bolla parents adored and stood by him no matter what society had to say about him. When he faced discrimination in school, he fought for his place, believing in himself and the dreams he envisioned. Although he scored 98% in his exams, he faced rejections from coaching centres as he was trying to seek admission to India's top engineering institutes. Undeterred, Srikanth found other ways to fulfil his dream. He became the first international blind student at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), earning a degree in business management with 100% financial aid. Through all the trouble that came, he stood by his belief and proved barriers can be shattered with determination and vision. In 2012, after returning to India, Srikanth established Bollant Industries Pvt Ltd Industries Private Limited with the purpose of creating green solutions and, at the same time, providing employment opportunities for those with a disability. For him, the goal is not to fight battles or set benchmarks but to innovate, create opportunities, and work towards a sustainable future. The company provides biodegradable packaging solutions and alternatives to plastic. Bollant Industries has multiple manufacturing units situated in Hyderabad, Hubli, and Nizamabad, and it has hundreds of disabled employees. With early support from notable investor Ratan Tata, the company has become a symbol of sustainability and inclusivity. Under Srikanth's leadership, we can see a thriving business and a community of empowered individuals redefining their potential. Srikanth's success is built on innovative marketing strategies. Bollant Industries taps into the growing segment of sustainable products by using its social mission of being eco-friendly. Its inclusive hiring practices are a cornerstone of its brand identity. The inspirational journey of Srikanth creates an emotional connection and, therefore, builds trust and goodwill with consumers and even stakeholders. Partnerships with environmental organizations and support from influential figures like Ratan Tata add to their credibility. The Srikanth approach shows how we can tune our purpose to create a business model that resonates with modern values. With accolades like the Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2021 and one of the Forbes Asia 30 Under 30, Srikanth's influence goes beyond just the business world. His biopic, Srikanth, starring Rajkummar Rao, celebrates his incredible journey. In his words, "Sight is just an organ of the body, but vision—vision is of the mind. It knows no limitations." His story tells us that there is greatness in fighting through adversity and bringing about positive change.

Nimisha Varma always knew she wanted to make an impact. Growing up in Lucknow, she was fascinated by the potential of science to solve real-world problems. But her defining moment came during her engineering studies when a staggering statistic caught her attention: 2.3 billion dry cell batteries are discarded in India each year, and each one pollutes up to 167,000 liters of drinking water. The hidden costs of our everyday energy sources shocked her, and she realized there had to be a better way. She teamed up with Naveen Suman a fellow engineer, and together they launched into a challenging question: could they develop a sustainable battery alternative? After months of experimentation, they discovered something unexpected and exciting—aloe vera, a plant revered for its healing properties, held the potential to power batteries. This was an innovation the world hadn’t seen before. In 2018, armed with nothing more than passion and a prototype, they co-founded Aloe Ecell. Unlike traditional batteries filled with heavy metals like lead and mercury, the Aloe Ecell battery was safe, eco-friendly, and entirely plant-based. Nimisha had successfully created the world’s first aloe vera-based battery, a sustainable innovation with the power to change how people think about energy. But it wasn’t easy. As young entrepreneurs in a highly specialized field, Nimisha and Naveen faced skepticism and funding challenges. Determined, Nimisha kept pushing forward, refining her product, and knocking on doors for support. She networked tirelessly, pitched Aloe Ecell at countless startup events, and finally began gaining the recognition that would transform her vision into reality. In 2020, Aloe Ecell was named one of the top clean-energy startups at Schneider Electric’s global Innovation Summit in Barcelona, a momentous achievement that positioned the company on the world stage. Nimisha was also honored as one of the top 51 women entrepreneurs from Tier II cities in India, and she began receiving recognition from industry leaders like Google, Microsoft, and the Government of India. Her aloe vera battery not only offered a safer, cleaner energy option but also sparked interest as a low-cost solution. Aloe Ecell batteries could be priced as low as Rs 9-10, making them accessible to the masses. Nimisha’s journey, however, wasn’t just about creating a new product; it was about reshaping an entire industry. Aloe Ecell’s production process is carbon-negative, using aloe vera plants that capture and store carbon dioxide, offsetting emissions. By sourcing the aloe vera locally, Aloe Ecell also helps reduce dependency on imported materials, creating a positive ripple effect for both the environment and the economy. Today, ALOE ECELL PVT LTD is more than just a company—it’s a movement, led by a visionary young woman determined to leave the planet a little better than she found it. A long year back I planned to write a story chosen topic " Things Were Going Unnoticed" but I couldn't. I don't even remember what content I thought of but today when I flipped the pages of my diary the topic provoked a thought so let me pen down....but I've changed my mind about the topic now it is- #ThingsAreGoingUnnoticed In the era of start-up, and entrepreneurship mind, things are going unnoticed. Even school-going children have become minds of start-ups and entrepreneurs. But again things are going unnoticed. And what is that? That is sustainability, environmental impact, socio-economic benefits, etc Why do many start-ups fail? Well, we have promoted this culture of start-up mind but we forgot to promote the foundation of it. And of that is sustainability, environmental impact, socio-economic impact, etc which is crucial before landing and is the #demand of the era. Have you noticed products based on sustainability, environment-consciousness, etc gotten their momentum with minimal effort why? Because it is the need of the hour. But How to foster it further? Well, New Education Policy NEP's interdisciplinary course culture has given a thrust to it at the academic level but policy needs to be more proactive to bring start-up culture to sustainable start-up culture. Start-ups should be so promoted as #SustainableStartups. An exemplary model of sustainable entrepreneurship is the transformation of ITC under the leadership of Y C Deveshwar. Initially known as a cigarette manufacturer, ITC evolved into a diversified conglomerate with a strong focus on #sustainability. Deveshwar’s vision extended beyond profitability, encompassing the #socioeconomic upliftment of rural India through initiatives like #eChoupal, which empowered farmers and enhanced their #livelihoods. ITC's journey underscores the potential for start-ups to achieve both business success and socio-economic impact by embedding sustainability into their core operations. JUST PERSPECTIVE ☮ ✌ #sustainability

Should the industry evolve enough to outgrow the problem Or can we evolve in the way we address the problem? Can we do both? 🙂 What is the actual problem and what are the symptoms? 🤔 A lot of questions to ask!! Finding the answer/s might not be easy, but let's get to it!🫡 #climateaction #youth #indiaevolve #mobility #sustainable
Building a climate resilient world by training future youth leaders. UN Youth Climate Leader l TEDx MACE
🌍 Fourteen years ago at random conference, I learned that burning a liter of petrol or diesel emits about 1.2 kilograms of CO2e. This fact changed my life and perspective forever and inspired me to work on #climateaction. Fast forward to today, and I'm deeply involved in transformative climate initiatives. You might hear me say 'ten years' in the video—I like to think it makes me sound younger 😅 but I am not. 🚚 Now, as part of the Sustainable Mobility Network, I'm collaborating with a fantastic team and some impactful organizations across India to launch a platform for innovative young minds. We're tackling one of the most pressing issues #India will face as our e-commerce explodes: the carbon footprint of last-mile deliveries. For every parcel delivered, approximately 285 grams of CO2 are emitted. With parcel deliveries expected to increase tenfold in the next six years, the urgency to innovate is now. 🏆 The India EVolve Ideation Challenge invites youth to propose innovative solutions that could revolutionize our transport sector. It's a chance for youth to influence policies and contribute to a #sustainable #mobility future. And yes, there's a cash prize pool of ₹4.5 lakh to be won! 🛠️ I started small by cycling from college to my hostel, proving that every little bit helps in our fight against climate change. Now, I’m asking you to bring your ideas forward. Whether you're a student, a young professional, or even a seasoned educator, your innovative solutions are crucial. 📢 Calling all young innovators between the ages of 18 to 38 (and professors of any age)! 💡 Interested? Check out the details and apply for the challenge at www.indiaevolve.com. In a world filled with challenges, some individuals rise above, not only to change their own lives but to inspire countless others. One such story is that of Srikanth Bolla, a true embodiment of resilience, determination, and vision. Born blind to a family of farmers in a small village in Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth faced unimaginable hurdles right from the start. Rejected from prestigious schools due to his disability, he fought the system and earned a spot in one of India's top schools. But his battle didn’t stop there. He went on to become the first blind international student at MIT, one of the most prestigious institutions in the world. After completing his education, Srikanth returned to India with a mission—to empower others who faced similar struggles. He founded Bollant Industries, a company that employs hundreds of disabled individuals and creates eco-friendly packaging solutions. Today, his company is valued in the millions, but more importantly, it’s providing meaningful employment and changing societal attitudes towards disability. 💡 Srikanth's story is a powerful reminder that success isn’t defined by circumstances, but by one’s vision and perseverance. He didn't just break barriers—he created opportunities for others to rise alongside him. As entrepreneurs, Srikanth teaches us that the true measure of success lies not only in personal achievement but in the impact we make on the world around us. 🌍 Let’s take a moment today to celebrate entrepreneurs like Srikanth Bolla who remind us that no obstacle is too big when the will to succeed is strong. #Inspiration #Entrepreneurship #Leadership #InclusiveBusiness #Resilience #Innovation #India #SrikanthBolla #SuccessStory
