Yes! My beard and I 🧔♂️ will be at SXSW Sydney this week. Last year was infectious and full of suprises! I have triple the fun this year with Startmate demo day and MeasureCamp Sydney on the same week 🙌 Hit me up if you want to jam on anything from biohacking to open-source generative models. Was already great to re-connect last night at Startmate demo day with fellow investors and founders. Already the discussions on the ground and amongst the crowd is converging on a few key things I will be exploring this week: ⚡️What is the true energy footprint and carbon impact of the recent boom in AI - Many pushing for better “carbon transparency” in models from training to production. ESG in AI seems to an emergent space to follow. We start to go beyond tooling and models and start to better understand the value and supply chain of AI and information as more organisations rely on this new oil to accelerate them forward. 🫶 Human connection - The push for “IRL” (in real life) experiences. The quiet quitting pyramid is stemming from lack of communication, trust value and a sense of community. We are all searching and want to connect with purpose. 🧠 Fertile ground for innovation - what dose the future of capital and innovation look like with the ebbs and flows of the economy, migration and influx of information where by we are all creators. Hyper personalized experiences are becoming a reality where we can create things in days a weeks that would have taken months if not years. This just an early taste and can’t wait to share more about my journey and the fresh perspectives this week.

Living outside Silicon Valley and wondering what is going on here? From the outside, tech world operates according to the same rules as elsewhere: 👇 Young innovators build and meet at conferences to showcase their work and listen to panels and fireside chats from established innovators and investors. Only the dynamics is different. People open up about what they are building. Doors open faster. Information flows better. Motivation appears on its own. In this short video, I’d like to show you how this year’s edition of the famous San Francisco-based conference TechCrunch Disrupt looked. So, I internalized the fact that I’m an introvert and sometimes, less is more. I also realized that the essence of the “brand” of a company is in its clients, not in your casual contacts. Yes, you can spend your time shaking arbitrarily many hands… but your happy clients will speed up your networking efforts x10 even if you don’t leave your room. 🚀 Deep Tech CEE Summit & Challenge - summary of entries! 🚀 We are very pleased to announce that 365 projects from all over the world entered this year's edition! 🎉 🔝 In comparison, in the previous edition we received 240 entries, 55% of which came from Poland. This year, 62% of the entries came from outside Poland, which shows the growing interest in our competition internationally. 💡 79% of the projects come from the 21 countries of the CEE region - it is for them that we dedicate our competition. In our definition, CEE includes countries from Estonia 🇪🇪, Ukraine 🇺🇦 and Slovenia 🇸🇮, to Balkan countries such as Bulgaria 🇧🇬, Armenia 🇦🇲 or Moldova 🇲🇩. Our mission? ‘Unlocking the power of deep tech to scale the potential of the CEE region.’ We believe that it is here, using our intellectual, business and industrial potential, that we can develop new technologies and conquer new markets. ✨ We would like to thank all participants for taking up the challenge and submitting their breakthrough projects. Take the stage. Friday marked the end of Italian Tech Week. Some legendary tech giants such as Sam Altman, Doug Leone, Sarah Guo, Mike Volpi, Jeannette zu Fürstenberg, and many others went on stage. But to me, the most important people who took the stage are those you see in these pictures: my team and our founders. I can't find words about my team that do justice to what they've done. I have only one word: gratitude. I am grateful for what you've done and deeply grateful to have you in my life. To our founders: this event is made for you. Vento and ITW were born to nurture and grow new founders in our country. Seeing you take the stage and claim the space you deserve is why we do what we do. It's a challenge we're now all facing on a daily basis, from deep fake to fake news (have you seen the Russian bots on Twitter giving the recipe for a strawberry tart through prompt injection, or publishing the error from OpenAI because they didn't have enough credits 🤦♂️, it's quite hilarious). We'll also discuss, from a business point of view, how to stay on the bleeding edge of technology while protecting your clients data. Interesting topic!
