Macular Telangiectasia type 2 (MacTel) clinical data will be presented by Baruch Kuppermann, MD and audio narrated papers by David R. Lally, MD and Catherine Egan, MD. MacTel is a bilateral retinal disease that leads to a gradual loss of central vision. The disease causes photoreceptors to be lost in a well-defined area (Ellipsoid Zone) of the retina. Together with Peter Lainevool, I have successfully raised 100 million SEK for Pharmaceutical company Xinnate. We extend our deepest gratitude to all the private investors who have placed their trust and support in Xinnate's mission to revolutionize healthcare and improve the lives of patients worldwide.   We raised the money to further enable the company to develop an innovative drug aimed at treating serious inflammatory skin conditions and difficult-to-heal wounds. To improve the patent portfolio further concurrently, Xinnate has submitted a patent application for the treatment of Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare and challenging disease.   The funding enables an upcoming phase-2 study for the company’s first drug—a gel for topical treatment of dysfunctional healing in wounds or inflammatory skin conditions. A phase-1 study in three parts is currently underway, including one part with patients suffering from the rare and severe disease Epidermolysis Bullosa. Planning for a multi-site phase-2 study with EB patients is ongoing.   The innovation stems from Professor Artur Schmidtchen groundbreaking research spanning over 20 years at Lund University. We started a longitudinal study to assess imaging biomarkers in relation to new bone formation and inflammatory characteristics in patients with axial spondyloarthritis and psoriatic arthritis together with COPECARE and the department of radiology of Herlev og Gentofte Hospital. Earlier studies (Refs: Willesen ST, et al. Ann Rheum Dis 2024; Jans LBO, et al. Radiology 2022) demonstrated the ability of #BoneMRI to detect structural changes in these populations, however this study investigates the effect of treatment with a pharmaceutical compound and the ability to detect structural bone changes in an early phase.
