Many of us may be familiar with the "Space Force" web series on Netflix or have seen the viral Instagram reel depicting a scientist frustrated with Microsoft's auto-updating system during a critical space mission. In line with the vision portrayed in Space Force of dealing with space obstacles, Dark, a Paris-based startup established three years ago, is striving to become the S.W.A.T. team of space. The company is actively developing a mobile platform aimed at addressing the challenges of space debris and conflict by launching, attaching to, and ultimately de-orbiting uncooperative objects in space. This mission is undeniably ambitious, as no company has yet achieved successful rendezvous and proximity operations—approaching and interacting with other objects in space. However, as Mr. Nelson Mandela famously said, "It always seems impossible until it's done". #Space #Rocket #Satellite #Aircraft #Mission #Technology #Innovations #Startup #Opportunities #Investment #NewMarket #Leadership

Digantara, a pioneering spacetech startup, has unveiled its state-of-the-art Satellite Assembly Facility in Bengaluru, signaling a monumental leap in space technology. Spread across an impressive 25,000 square feet in the vibrant Hebbal area, this facility houses a command and control center and a pristine cleanroom, serving as the heart of satellite assembly, integration, and testing (AIT). Digantara's current flagship project involves deploying a constellation of 40 space surveillance satellites. These satellites are poised to revolutionize global space traffic management by providing detailed qualitative and quantitative data. Their mission is crucial: to monitor space debris and other space-based assets, thus ensuring the safety and sustainability of space operations. The newly inaugurated facility stands out as Asia's first commercial Space Domain Awareness Command and Control Center. Operating much like an Air Traffic Control for global aviation, this center focuses on managing and monitoring space traffic. This facility also hosts the STARS (Space Threat Assessment and Response Suite), bolstering national sovereign space capabilities. Digantara's decision to establish its headquarters in Bengaluru underscores the city's emerging status as a hub for space technology startups. With collaborations with space situational awareness experts worldwide and endorsements from defense-related government agencies, Digantara is poised to make significant contributions to the global spacetech ecosystem. #SpaceTech #Bengaluru #SpaceInnovation #SpaceTrafficManagement #SSA #STARS #GlobalImpact #Innovation #SpaceExploration #startupindia #businessgrowth

SpaceCurve Update – May 21, 2024 At SpaceCurve, we are currently working on three exciting projects: Orbital Transfer Vehicle (OTV): Our OTV will address a major challenge in the small satellite launch sector. Once market-ready, it will surpass all other OTVs in this segment. We’ve successfully tested the injection system and are now moving towards igniter testing, followed by a combined igniter-injector test, and finally, the scaled propulsion system. Separation System for Small Satellites: Introducing the Kirk Cubesat Deployer, named after Captain Kirk from Star Trek. Scheduled for market readiness by the end of July, this deployer boasts numerous features, including a signature "Low or No Tip-off Rate." Stealth Project: Stay tuned for more details on this exciting initiative. IIST has been a great supporter. We are immensely grateful to IIST and specially Dr. Aravind Vaidyanathan. At SpaceCurve, we are all committed to extending life beyond Earth. #mars #space #startup #india SpaceCurve Technologies

A space rocket that can take off and land like an aeroplane: That is the idea being pursued by the Bremen-based start-up POLARIS Spaceplanes. Small test models are already flying, take off is due in 2028. The invention could revolutionise the market, as the spacecraft can be reused up to 200 times - and can take off into space from any airport. The start-up company, located in the industrial estate near the Bremer Kreuz motorway junction, uses two different types of engine for its space vehicle. During take-off, it is the turbine engines that are used. When the vehicle is flying, the "Aerospike Engines" (rocket engines) are ignited to provide the propulsion needed for supersonic flight. These engines are the company's own development, made in Bremen. "The most important question about any location is: where do I get the staff? And Bremen is, after all, one of the largest aviation and aerospace cities", sys Alexander Kopp when asked, why he moved his startup to Bremen. The Federal State of Bremen has the largest number of people involved in aviation and aerospace in Germany, per head of populatio and is home to more than 140 companies and twenty institutes that are involved in this sector. Klopp also remarked that Bremen's proximity to the coast is a great advantage. His colleagues regularly travel to Peenemünde on the island of Usedom because the airspace over the sea can be "cordoned off" for test flights.
