Day #23 of Shawna's Holiday Countdown After Action Review at the North Pole! Even Santa and his elves know the importance of continuous improvement, learning from each Christmas season, and performing an After Action Review. 🎅 Assess Effectiveness: First, they review the sleigh's flight plan and delivery schedule. Did Santa hit every chimney on time? Did they achieve their objectives? Were there any challenges? 🎅 Identify Gaps: Next, they pinpoint where toy production or gift wrapping fell behind to avoid future delays in the workshop. Did they need more resources? A templated process to follow? 🎅 Document Successes: They celebrate the wins and document what went well, like this year's record-breaking process for mounting up the reindeer and improving their departure time. 🎅 Build Resilience: They also review the plan to make it agile and flexible, developing strategies for unexpected challenges, such as reindeer training mishaps, elf strikes, or weather-related sleigh detours. 🎅 Rebuild Trust: Santa works to ensure families know he's listening if things don't go as planned. After a last-minute gift mix-up, some kids felt forgotten. Through personalized letters and magical visits, he's restoring belief in the North Pole's commitment to holiday joy for all, working to rebuild the lost trust. As often as Santa has made deliveries on Christmas Eve, he knows there's always room for improvement to make the season even better next year! We could all learn a thing or two from Santa. #HolidayCountdown #CrisisCommunications #AAR #CrisisManagement

While you’re enjoying the festive season, here’s some reminders on how to avoid drink spiking. Buy your own drinks: Keep control of what you consume by purchasing your own drinks and watching them being prepared. Don’t leave your drink unattended: Whether you're dancing or stepping away for a moment, always keep an eye on your drink. If you must leave it, ask a trusted friend to watch it for you. Avoid accepting drinks from strangers: Politely decline drinks from people you don’t know well. If someone offers you a drink, accompany them to the bar and get it directly from the bartender. Trust your instincts: Stay aware of what's happening around you. Be cautious if someone seems overly eager to buy you drinks or gets too friendly too quickly. If your drink tastes or looks odd, don’t consume it. Discard it and alert venue staff if necessary. Look out for each other: When out with friends, keep an eye on one another. If someone starts feeling unwell or disoriented, seek help immediately. Know how to ask for help : If you feel unsafe or suspect your drink has been spiked, don’t hesitate to approach venue staff and “Ask for Angela.” This signals that you need assistance. Stay vigilant and enjoy your night out safely! For many of us, Christmas is a season that’s overstuffed with expectations. There are gifts to buy, meals to prepare, events to attend, and people to please. It can feel like an endless marathon, leaving little time to enjoy the moments that truly matter. Instead of filling every corner of our lives with obligations, what if we made space for joy, meaning, and connection? Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gEztjHx7

🎈 For their fourth #birthday party, twins Isla and Quinn dressed as a princess and a pirate, jumped on a bouncy castle and listened to performers tell stories. There were decorations and the guests tucked into two cakes and #party bags. Their parents, Estella and Faye Newbold-Brown, came away with little change from £800. The cost is well beyond the average of £279 that supermarket Sainsbury’s had estimated in a survey last year, even when doubled for each twin. It’s now expected for #middleclass families to spend anywhere between £300 and £1,000 – or far more – on their child’s special day. #Millennials – the generation most likely to currently have young children – are also the most likely to be affected by the cost of living crisis. It makes sense, then, that they’d be cutting back on everyday costs like subscriptions, alcohol, eating out, or new clothes. But kids’ parties? They remain sacred, it appears.
