I used to think mental health issues were signs of weakness or a thing only happening to negative people… something far that would never happen to happy, committed, active, positive people. Now I know, nobody is immune. Research reveals we are facing high levels of depression and anxiety due to biological, social, and cultural factors faced daily. From the ‘loved’ hormonal changes to societal pressure of perfectionism and many un-seen, un-noticed challenges. The big issue is that we usually cope in silence. But this silence can be dangerous, and requires urgent need for change. That’s why platforms like G100: Mission Million, wing G100 Global Networking Meeting and the upcoming event "Mental Health and Women" at the European Parliament in Strasbourg are more than just talks; they are lifelines. These forums encourage a REEVALUATION of how we support and prioritise our mental health. Thanks dear Mar Introini, PhD for organising and thanks to PAS España and the European Parlament for their support. Looking forward to learning from experts representing over 20 countries across Africa, Europe, and Asia🌟🗣️ #BreakTheSilence #ChangeMakers #MentalHealthMatters #SupportNotStigma #EmpowerWomen #StrongerTogether

Actually Fueling Human Connection??? I left CoreNet with more questions than answers, particularly around the theme of "𝑭𝒖𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑯𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏." Despite the intention, I didn’t see anything that addressed this in a truly meaningful way. Don’t get me wrong, it was refreshing to shift away from the endless Return-to-Office debates. But we still managed to avoid the real issues that impact people every day: ❌ No discussions on #trauma, PTSD or #anxiety. ❌ Barely a mention of #neurodiversity or neuroinclusion. ❌ Zero exploration of #psychological safety, other than a panel on the "𝒑𝒔𝒚𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆"—which completely missed the human side of psychology - despite the fact that some of my favorite humans facilitated that session so incredibly well. ❌ No mention of the brain-body connection or the neuroscience behind belonging. ❌ Silence on the impact of exclusion. How did this year’s CoreNet fuel human connection without addressing the tough, uncomfortable topics that genuinely matter? It’s not about playbooks, roadmaps, or the next glossy publication promising a "6-step solution" (for profit or gain). It’s about courageously tackling hard, fierce, and sometimes uncomfortable conversations. It’s about showing up authentically, with vulnerability, to actually make progress. This conference felt like a mixed bag for me. On one hand, I was thrilled and so proud to see my former student shine in her first professional speaking engagement and grateful for the opportunity to partner with SmithGroup on our session. Connecting with friends and colleagues in person was also energizing and soul filling. But on the other, I felt deeply disappointed. 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧. 𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨. It was highlighted for me over these past few days that we’re still missing the mark. It's not about the workplace or the office alone, despite what many in the industry continue to push. It’s about people. Human beings. So if you're ready to have the conversations that matter; on trauma, mental health, neurodiversity, anxiety, and fostering genuine human connections please reach out. I’m here, ready to roll up my sleeves, get messy, and dig deep with anyone willing to make a real impact. #tinygiants #resilientcommunities

Technology is increasingly intertwined in our daily lives, and the constant info load can shape our mental health in both positive and negative ways. Researchers from Microsoft in partnership with consumer mental health companies, large technology companies, government organizations, legal scholars, educators, non-profit organizations and consumer advocates, as well as clinicians and academic researchers explored how the clinical science, public health, and tech sectors can address those complexities, and identified four key areas that can help bridge the gap between stakeholders and technologies and mental health. The intersection of tech and mental health can be complex, and with fundamental shifts in approaches to innovations and collaborations, we can ensure technologies will serve as a force for good in mental health. We all know that mental health innovation is crucial. However, we need to focus on solutions that provide long-term benefits and not just Band-Aids on a bullet wound; not just innovate for the sake of innovation. There are so many problems to solve, including affordability, accessibility, matchability, transparency, and interoperability, as well as efficiencies and effective diagnostics and treatments. The list goes on... Finding scalable solutions is key, but the over-reliance on technology risks dehumanising the very essence of mental health care. Like everything in life, balance is key. True progress will come from integrating technological advancements with effective therapeutic methods or augmenting such methods with technology.

As we close out National Women's Health Week, our team at TPN.health would like to share with #clinicians the top five things we recommend to enhance your overall well being, personally and professionally. 1. Prioritize Your Mental Health: Take time to care for your mental well-being. Practice stress-reducing activities such as meditation, mindfulness, or spending time with your loved ones. It's important for you to recharge too. 2. Advocate for Yourself: Be proactive about your health by advocating for your own needs as a clinical provider. Ask relevant questions, voice concerns, and seek out opinions of others respected in the space to elevate your knowledge. Your health is important too, and you deserve to be heard and supported in own growth journey. 3. Stay Active: Incorporate physical activity into your daily routine. This will help you think more clearly and help you better support those you are serving. 4. Eat a Balanced Diet: Focus on nourishing your body with a variety of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. What you're putting into your body fuels your mind as well, and as a clinician, many others are leaning on you to support them. 5. Regular Educational Trainings: Schedule time in your calendar to focus on continuing education. While it's easy to put it off, it's never been more important to strengthen your skills as a clinician to ensure you're up-to-date on pivotal processes and enhancements in the behavioral health space. If you're interested in joining a community of other like-minded clinicians in the behavioral health space, we invite you to create a FREE account at www.tpn.health.

What are the attitudes and experiences of current and potential users of digital mental health technology in the UK? We funded a three-year research programme, led by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency and NICE - National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, to find out. Overall, most participants felt that digital technology could have a positive role in supporting mental health. They also felt that, to benefit users, digital technologies for mental health should: 🟠 Offer support in addition to professional help, rather than replace it. 🟠 Protect vulnerable people, particularly their data and finances. 🟠 Provide clear guidance on how to find help if someone is in immediate need. 🟠 Share correct information and guidance, with the involvement of professionals. Through our latest mental health funding award, we hope to maximise the potential of digital mental health technology. We’re offering up to £7 million to each team to develop scalable digital interventions. The goal is to advance early intervention in anxiety, depression and psychosis. Interested?
