“Superbugs” like carbapenemase-producing Enterobacterales (CPE) can spread rapidly and cause outbreaks. Their limited treatment options and strong association with healthcare settings means they can be particularly disruptive and costly, posing a significant threat to the NHS as it continues to tackle the elective backlog.* UKHSA has published a framework of actions to contain CPE which in particular emphasises the need for each health provider to implement targeted admission screening based on regional prevalence to help prevent transmission and protect patients.* This #WorldAMRWeek, download our comprehensive infographic and join the fight to protect public health: https://ow.ly/qSaQ50U8jw9 This briefing has been developed by Cepheid and supported by the Fleming Initiative #AMR #Superbugs #CPEAwareness #UKHealth

Take a look at this video – it’s quite shocking to see the numbers of people living with COPD represented in this way, and a real wake-up call that we must continue to fight for COPD to be better recognised, funded and treated. This #WorldCOPDDay, along with our #SpeakUpforCOPD coalition partners, we’re calling on healthcare providers and policy makers to take decisive action to elevate COPD as a public health priority. 📢 Advocating for Better Care: MNI Manifesto Key Call 3/5 Addressing patient access inequalities in nutritional care is crucial. ➡️Reimbursement often depends on where a patient lives, not their illness. ➡️Inconsistent rules across states hinder safe delivery. ➡️This leads to uneven access, raising risks of hospital readmission, complications, and weaker clinical outcomes. MNI urges the next legislature to harmonise assessment and settlement provisions, encouraging EU Member States to incorporate evidence-based nutritional interventions into their reimbursement schemes. 🔗 bit.ly/3uH7bpc #MNIManifesto #UseYourVote #NutritionalCare #EUElections2024
