Israeli law firms and their outbound business development: New survey unlocks insights. New insights from the Israeli legal sector. In a recent survey of the outbound business development initiatives of Israeli corporate law firms, the results are incredibly useful for fostering closer relationships: Nearly 90% reported either an increase or stability in international-related work over the last two years. 60% of surveyed Israeli law firms prefer collaborating with international law firms that have an Israel Desk. Preference is shown towards international firms with a physical presence in Israel, with approximately 20 firms meeting this criterion. Impressively, nearly one third of Israeli law firms are engaged with over 20 international counterparts, highlighting the competitive nature of the legal industry and the growing demand for Israeli legal expertise. When it comes to decision-making for referrals, relationships take center stage, with 55% valuing this aspect over factors reciprocity (11%). Rarely do we get a glimpse of what affects law firms in their referral decision making or their outbound strategy. With outbound business development becoming more structured, strategic and methodological, more law firms are opening up and developing relationships with law firms around the world. Firms that until recently sent referrals to colleagues are looking at this now from a more strategic lens. Although the current research pertains to Israeli law firms (and how they conduct outbound BD), this can easily be applied to other jurisdictions. And yes, now that we have expanded globally with offices in key jurisdictions, the next research will include many other domestic firms as well :)

CEE Legal Matters has just published our corporate legal market overview Corporate law firms in Serbia are undergoing significant change! Over the past ten years, numerous partners from traditionally large corporate law firms have established their own practices, either independently or with other colleagues, leading to an increase in the number of law firms specializing in this field. On one hand, this has resulted in improved service quality and on the other it has influenced on lowering hourly rates, making services more affordable for clients. As competition intensified, the need for market consolidation in the segment of corporate law firms became inevitable. Over the past and current year, several domestic corporate and IP law firms have formed partnerships with regional firms or have been absorbed by large, globally renowned firms like. Although "Magic Circle" or "Silver Circle" law firms are not yet operating in Serbia, their entry is anticipated in the near future due to the dynamic economy, high economic growth rates, record low unemployment, and improved general living standards. My friend and LawPact colleague Scott Pohlman writes that international law firm associations enable small- and mid-size law firms to engage (and compete) on an international level. So true. Helsell Fetterman LLP has been a member of LawPact for many years and our association with business law firms around the world has greatly benefited our firm and clients. Scott’s article requires a subscription, and here are highlights for those who cannot access it: International law firm associations - build robust global connections - expand the firm’s client base - create opportunities for client referrals - enhance knowledge and expertise - offer global reach for clients In his summary, Scott writes: “Joining international legal associations offers tangible advantages for small to medium-sized law firms. These benefits include improved client service, more efficient meeting of diverse client needs, comprehensive legal solutions, strategic growth, and revenue expansion through access to new markets and client segments. “Small to medium-sized law firms should consider joining international associations to enhance their growth opportunities and strengthen their ability to provide specialized client service. The collaborative environment, networking opportunities, and access to global expertise offered by international legal associations can significantly bolster the firm’s capabilities and reputation. “Global legal collaboration is essential for navigating the complexities of today’s legal landscape. Embracing international associations fosters professional development, knowledge sharing, and robust client relationships and can ensure that small to medium-sized law firms remain competitive and effective in a globalized world.” Anyone interested in LawPact may DM me or the association’s President, Douglas Conover. https://lnkd.in/gHajmRW3 #lawpact #helsellfetterman
