We’re focusing on Daniel, our all-rounder and go-to person in tight spots, who has been with No1 Online for over 10 years. He was the first broker when the company was still operating from home, part of a small team with Koos and Pieter on the operational side, and Juan and Iselle handling administration. Daniel reflects on the privilege of being part of a team where each person is valued for their contributions and supported in their growth. He appreciates working in an environment where you are not just a number but a recognized individual. What Daniel enjoys most about broking is helping clients and transporters who find themselves in challenging situations. His biggest daily challenge is time—coordinating the loading and offloading of trucks and getting them back on the road efficiently. We are deeply grateful for Daniel's contributions over the years and his dedication to the team. One thing I will never do is cancel a truck because I “found a cheaper option.” That is bad business, untrustworthy, and striaght up dishonest. Once I have verbally agreed to a load with a carrier the deal is done, then we can get to the paperwork. If you are a broker that will cancel a truck for a cheaper option, do better. #ShipSentry #WeGuardYourFreight

There’s nothing better than meeting new friends for the first or seeing friends like Michael Lombard for the first time in a long time at the Broker Carrier Summit! As I’ve always said this is the most important event for #FreightBrokers, #MotorCarriers and Freight industry stakeholders. No other event that I have attended Foster’s friendships, relationships, and camaraderie like this one does You really have to see it to believe it. #BCSKC24 #BuildingTrust #BuildingRelationships #BuildingABetterFreightIndustry

Today, I was making calls and talked to a shipper named Shawn from Colorado. He said he wasn't interested since he works with asset carriers. I mentioned my pricing isn't far off from theirs as I had some owner drivers there, but he got assertive, saying it’d be different and revealed he used to be a broker himself. That voice sounded familiar, and then it hit me—I used to run a lane for him! What a small world! 😅 Note to self: Be mindful of what I say to shippers—they might be former brokers! #SmallWorld #LogisticsLife #FreightFun #UnexpectedConnections #BrokerLife #ShippingSurprises #AlwaysLearning

Why… for the love of god, are carriers complaining about broker margins? We don’t work for free! The money you make off of a load is directly proportional to the rate you agreed to. You could alternatively…wait for it… ✨do the hard work that brokers put in to find those accounts (and let me tell you… in this market.. I deserve the money for the work I’ve put in to finding a customer. It’s HARD! Those accounts don't just magically appear on my dispatch board!) ✨do the hard work that brokers put in to build those relationships ✨stop using brokers all together ✨stop taking loads that don’t pay what you desire to be paid. Orrrrr hear me out here… build better relationships with your brokers if you’re not willing to do the above 🙌 You attract more bees with honey. You’re not going to find a carrier that I’ve worked with complain about me or the rates. I do what’s fair, and they’ll tell you I never ever ever sway away from that. Ever. I need them as much as they need me sometimes. Brokers are here to stay… we fill the gap for shippers needing the additional services. for those that follow my content, I’m VERY pro driver. I’ve been on the other side of the fence (I’ve worked in trucking terminals , dispatch manager so on. I’ve cultivated those relationships and heard their side and understand this how they bring home money for their families… and the costs associated with their job) some of my very best friends and family are/were drivers. This might be the first post where I’ve actually taken the brokers side. Come sit on this side of the fence, I’m sure there are a few who can attest to this statement. #brokers #freightbroker #carriers #logistics #rates #sales #logisticssolutions #business #businessrelationships #carriers

Keep Booming No One Will Stop Us! When we filed for Chapter 11, many brokers and customers walked away. It was a challenging moment, but we doubled our commitment to excellence instead of giving up. Since then, we’ve delivered over 10,000 loads and continue to prove ourselves every single day. We’re earning back trust, rebuilding partnerships, and adding new brokers and customers to our growing network. This is a reminder that setbacks are just setups for comebacks. We’re not here for the short term but for the long run. If you’re ready to work with a team that doesn’t quit, let’s connect. Together, we can move mountains—or, in our case, thousands of loads. Some of the hidden cost in transportation of freight occur from loss and damage. Averitt has a proven track record of handling freight in a safe and efficient way so that it is delivered on time and intact. "Last year was a record-setting one for Averitt Express, as it set a new standard for best damage-free performance in company history." If you are experiencing anything less then reach out to me. Why spend money that you don't have too when Averitt is the better choice? Read this article and give me a call.

Breaker act of kindness: give a carrier with a new MC a shot. I've dispatched for new MCs before and it can be extremely frustrating and time-consuming just to find a broker that is willing to work with a new MC. Most brokers have strict guidelines to work with them and a lot of it revolves around MC age. These guidelines aren't without merit, but they do create significant barriers for new carriers in the industry. I talked to a carrier yesterday with a new MC and he told me he has called over 100 brokers just to find one that would work with him. While there are risks associated with new MCs, I believe in giving them an opportunity. Some of my best carriers have newer MCs and it's led to some great relationships. #Freight #Logistics #Trucking #SupplyChain

Sentry Logistics Group Inc Isn't quite big enough to have yearly carrier awards, but that doesn't mean I can't run a report and see who our top carriers for 2023 were. 1. Owner Operator of the Year: SMS Transport LLC, based out of Dothan AL. 2. Small Carrier of the Year: Wheelwright Trucking Inc, based out of Dothan AL. (RIP, they fell victim to the down market and we miss them very much) 3. Midsize Carrier of the Year: Tie Santa Barbara Freight Corp, based out of Carrollton TX. H T Bar Inc, based out of Aledo TX. 4. Large Carrier of the Year: Southern Ag Carriers, Inc Out of all carriers we worked with last year, Southern AG hauled the most loads. Imagine that, a brokerage with direct assets...that actually uses them! #ShipSentry #WeGuardYourFreight
