🚺 This women's month the Project Nof1 interview series puts a spotlight on women's health, with a set of interviews focused on the "Perimenopause Game Plan". 🎙 These conversations showcase different women's experiences as they went through, or are going through the hormonal transition (which can last up to a decade!) Physical therapist and population health expert, Perry Brubaker shares her healthy aging protocol and her perimenopause game plan. She unpacks the five elements which include Recover, Move, Fuel, Endure and Connect; and how she has leveraged them before her hormonal transition and how the five elements has helped her through her on-going perimenopause journey. 🎞 Check out how she incorporated the five elements into her Perimenopause Game Plan --> https://lnkd.in/eVikdDPh #womenhealth #longevity #perimenopause #menopause #healthyagingprotocol #protocolclub

Although the life expectancy of women currently exceeds that of men, women on average spend about twice as many years in poor health. As we age, we're faced with unique challenges such as menopause, bone health, and caregiving for children and elderly family members, causing some women to drop out of the workforce early. So we live longer but not better, and we can't work as long and make less money? Something is broken here. Join ZS's Women's Health Expertise Hub in this collaboration with Working for Women on Wednesday, Oct. 16 for an insightful discussion on women's healthy aging with Judith Kulich (ZS), Dr. Juliana (Jewel) Kling, MD, MPH, FACP, MSCP, IF (Mayo Clinic), and Dr. Kathleen Green (Maven Clinic). ****Register (for free) here**** https://lnkd.in/gy56t2k7 #WomensHealthWednesday #WomensHealthyAging #Menopause #Osteoporosis

Factors such as the age of onset, symptom severity and duration, health outcomes and risks, and access to care and cultural perceptions all play a crucial role in shaping these experiences. For BIPOC women, these differences can mean earlier onset, more severe symptoms, and unique challenges in accessing culturally sensitive care. Understanding these disparities is essential for promoting health equity and ensuring that all women receive the support they need during this transitional phase of life. Curious to learn more about how these factors impact BIPOC and White women differently? Dive into our blog post for an in-depth exploration. 3 in 10 men are not diagnosed for erectile dysfunction compared to... 😑 8 in 10 women not diagnosed for menopause 😑 7 in 10 women not diagnosed for PCOS 😑 6 in 10 women not diagnosed for endometriosis This data, shared in a report earlier this year by the World Economic Forum and the McKinsey Health Institute, highlighted two other astonishing findings: 🤯 Despite living longer than men, we (women) spend 𝟮𝟱% 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 in poor health 💰 If we can address the women's health gap, we could boost the global economy by at least $1 trillion annually by 2040 The takeaway? 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻, 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘀𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝘆. ➡️ It's why 69% of employers recognize the need to provide health benefits that specifically target women's health, according to a recent study by CVS Health on employers' support of women's health ➡️ But, still, only 26% of organizations offer a midlife care program to address menopause symptoms, meanwhile there are more women aged 55+ in the workforce than ever before It's clear that more employers need to offer comprehensive women's health care benefits that cover women's entire health care journey. One way to do that? Offer Wisdom Medicine to your workforce. See our Co-Founder Lauren's story to see why... #womenshealth #digitalhealth #naturopathiccare #integrativemedicine

Today at #AMMGFall2024: Workshop: Women’s Hormone Health and Longevity: https://lnkd.in/e-rr6imn Women spend 1/3 or their lives in menopause with an estimated 6,000 women daily or 2 million women yearly reaching menopause in the US. Current life-expectancy for American women is 79.5 years which ranks 7th in the top 10 biggest countries. Unfortunately, most health care dollars are spent on triage-based, reactive medicine and many women die prematurely or languish in their later years suffering from preventable diseases and poor quality of life. Extending lifespan and health span should be top priority for every physician who cares for women. This one-day course will arm health care providers with tools to assess age-associated conditions affecting women and provide treatment strategies to prevent, reverse, or manage them. Attendees will leave with a framework to help women achieve vibrant longevity. #WomensHormonesWorkshop #AMMG #AgeManagementMedicine #CMEEducation #ContinuingMedicalEducation #CMEConference #SaltLakeCity

TAKE A PAUSE & READ THIS! The 20 year, ongoing Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation (SWAN) reveals significant health disparities for women of color and particularly between Black and White women during menopause and midlife. Black women experience menopause earlier, with more severe and longer-lasting vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes, night sweats) than White women. They also face higher rates of depressive symptoms, poorer sleep quality, worse cardio-metabolic health, and lower health-related quality of life. These disparities are linked to structural racism, socioeconomic disadvantages, and greater exposure to life stressors. While menopause itself is not a direct cause of mortality, the related health conditions and systemic inequalities, the allostatic load (price paid for chronic stress) may influence women’s health trajectories during midlife. And these factors can contribute to poorer quality of life and a higher risk of mortality in the long term. So we created and unveiled BLACK IN THE PAUSE. (https://lnkd.in/gFWvyGg9) an initiative within LIFE IN THE PAUSE to support the huge disadvantage faced by Black Women in this phase and as they age. Visit the site to learn more. Stay tuned, we'll be launching fully in January 2025. #wellaging #globalmenopauseawarenessmonth #menopuaseawareness #blackinthepause #lifeinthepause

36% of those women had NOT been able to seek help from a healthcare professional. These stats are worrying, combined with the fact that still in 2024 more women get prescribed antidepressants rather than HRT, something really needs to change. Not only does oestrogen help our mood, testosterone and progesterone do too. They also work as neurotransmitters in the brain, and are of vital importance to how a woman’s brain functions correctly. If you are concerned about HRT, unsure if you’re perimenopausal or just want to understand what’s happening to your body, book an appointment now, and I can help. 07815611820 @menopausefact.notfiction @vanessawalker #menopausefact.notfiction #menopause #menopauseawearness #menopauseadvice #menopauseeducation #menopausesupport #midlife #midlifewomen #midlifemadness #midlifewomen #midlifehormones #midlifewellbeing #midlifewellness
