In 2009, I had my first real experience of working on environmental and sustainable reporting practices followed by private companies. That sparked a love for really understanding reporting standards, best practices, and global benchmarks that can be taken inspiration from. I ended up enrolling in many climate action, sustainability reporting courses over the years, specifically those linked with small business contributions and got accredited. I started the Young Entrepreneurs Movement (YEM) which to date has graduated over 300 youth members to get them excited about social entrepreneurship and sustainability. Worked with startups on innovations in green solutions, looking at the end to end business process to reduce carbon footprint. One area that I always feel lacking is a greater, concerted effort on advocacy and deliberation. The more we become the sounding boards for living a green lifestyle the better. Hence I wanted to embark on this journey. The Climate Change Champions Fellowship Programme 2024. Doing this in collaboration with wonderful speakers and partners who share the vision. It just a comfortable gathering of young talented youth, professionals and aspirants across the globe who want to learn more, equip themselves and ponder on the challenges of our changing world. Details 4 weeks on virtual learning and experience with industry experts Platform for showcasing your climate action interventions Certification and a life long learning To apply simply register on the link. Open for all. https://lnkd.in/edPtJmm7 Deadline for registrations: 12 June 2024 #climatechangeisreal #climateaction #fellowship #internshipopportunity

You know it’s a great one when it opens your eyes to how much more you can offer and achieve. I am proud to share that I am one of the first Green Career Bootcamp Members onboarded yesterday. GCB 1.0 was a total success! As a lover of the sustainability culture, I have had a bit of a struggle thinking about how I will incorporate sustainability into my future career options, and I must say that this program did a thing for me. We listened to five amazing speakers session after session and I had the opportunity to make a few key points. Here are the things that stood out to me. Opportunities in Africa’s Natural Wealth Of course, I would start with the great opportunities in finances. Mrs Ruth Olowosile’s session on the potential of the African Carbon Markets and Climate Finances and how we can look into Africa’s in-built opportunities in nature-based solutions, agriculture, and circular economy and the stream of opportunities in carbon credits is something I look forward to venturing into. Innovation Beyond Comfort Zones Then comes the energy from Mr Samuel Efosa-Austin. This session had me going, ‘ohhhs!’ multiple times. There is greatness in doing new. Just because someone did it a certain does not mean you should equally do it the same way. The world is at a point where newness is more appreciated. What new platform do you want to create, explore your innovative thoughts till everyone stands with you! The Power of Networking Madam Michelle Nambiro, MPRSK's advice on networking struck a chord with me. All the transitions in education, internships, volunteering, and mentorship need one to be very keen on networking. Knowing people would always make things easier for us and this one is top of my list in 2025. Consistency on Social Media I am also definitely taking Madam OTOKITI Adetayo (PHRi™)’s words into it today. I mean there is a reason I am posting this one now. I get so tired of using social media. A FORMER me would have taken these amazing sessions and not said anything about it... Lol. This one is definitely not going into 2025 with me and I can't wait for all the amazing nuggets and experiences I will also be sharing😌. Success is not Linear What do we do without success stories to look up to? I loved loved Mr Jide Olugbade Olugbode’s session. I have stayed in bed beating myself up for making mistakes and after a few times more mistakes, I simply abandon the projects, sometimes out of not getting it on the first try. We often forget that success is not a linear path. I mean what’s the fun if we just go from school to internship, to associate, without any career pivots to see how much more value we can give to the world? Kudos to the big team of Sustainable Green Environment Initiative for putting this together! It was indeed a great one and I look forward to the next big thing🤭… Well as a volunteer! #sustainability #letsgogreen #greenenvironment #sustainablefinance #circularity #SDGs

🌱 Aspiring Sustainability Consultant | Ready to Drive Positive Impact 🌍 Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s a mindset. As a Bachelor's student in Economics and Management at UCLouvain Saint-Louis, I’ve developed a passion for solving challenges that matter—creating strategies that are: ✅ Personally relevant ✅ Emotionally compelling ✅ Immediately beneficial 💡 I’m actively looking for an internship in sustainability consulting to help organizations implement strategies that are not just profitable but responsible and impactful. ✨ What drives me? 🔹 I co-founded VIAMAR, a non-profit aiming to participate in the 2025 4L TROPHY: a humanitarian challenge that combines teamwork, resourcefulness, and education for underserved communities. 🚗📚 🔹 As Project Manager at Proride, I organized a €310,000 trip for 400+ students—balancing leadership, problem-solving, and logistics. 🔹 I also co-founded a start-up focused on optimizing the labor market, where I learned to transform ideas into action, lead teams, and solve challenges with limited resources—skills I’m eager to bring to sustainability projects. 🔹 I represented my university at CWMUN 2025 in New York, debating global challenges on an international stage. 🌊 Outside of my studies and projects, I’m passionate about extreme sports like kitesurfing—pushing limits, innovating, and embracing challenges. Because that’s what sustainability is all about. 🔎 If you work in sustainability consulting or know of opportunities in this field, I’d love to connect and hear your advice! I’m particularly inspired by MBB companies like Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Bain & Company, and McKinsey & Company for their leadership in sustainable consulting. 🌍 💬 What do you think is the biggest challenge for businesses adopting sustainability strategies today? Let’s start a conversation! #Sustainability #Consulting #Leadership #Innovation #InternshipSearch #4LTrophy #Economics #PositiveImpact #problemsolving #MBB

🚀 You have the power to change your life 🚀 Just wrapped up Module 2 with Aspire Institute, where I had the privilege of learning from an incredible lineup of industry leaders and professors like Jeff Bartel, Can Erbil, Reza Satchu, Bryan Penprase, Eshaan Patheria, Ignacio Toledo, Sergio Lazzarini, Monique Maddy, David Sanderson and many others! From global citizenship to AI, entrepreneurship to renewable energy, and even exploring astronomy —I’ve gained insights that will fuel my growth as a marketing student and future professional. Here are some of my key takeaways: -Start your entrepreneurial journey with curiosity, creativity, and applied ideation. -Stay connected to the world by reading publications like The Economist. -Every career path is an opportunity for impact—integrate it in everything you do. -Privatization isn’t a solution to bad governance; societal needs often get ignored. -Inequality negatively affects everyone, not just those on the disadvantaged side. -Building relationships is key to success in any industry. -Neural networks mimic the brain's function, and science is like observing a chess match without knowing the rules. And most importantly, embrace obstacles as valuable learning opportunities. Grateful for this enriching experience and excited to apply these lessons in my journey forward! 💡🌍 #AspireInstitute #Entrepreneurship #Leadership #GlobalDynamics #STEM #ImpactDriven #MarketingStudent #LifelongLearning

We are celebrating #WorldYouthSkillsDay, a day dedicated to highlighting the importance of equipping young people with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving global landscape. Investing in skills for young learners is not just an economic imperative but a moral one. This huge disparity hinders personal growth and also perpetuates a cycle of inequality. 🌍 Equipping students with much-needed skills in leadership, critical thinking, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, cultural fluency and collaboration, will empower them to become proactive agents of change in our communities and beyond. 👐 We have a collective responsibility to support students in their journey of skill development. Experiential learning environments are essential in bridging the #skillsgap and unlocking opportunities. At Pagoda Projects, we're proud to support the next generation through #ExperientialLearning, programmes, placements, internships and sustainable experiences. Here's a snapshot of that in action 👇 https://lnkd.in/e8M-GJBX

It was yet another impactful experience yesterday as we gladly attended the last #Teach4SDGs training workshop. Our guest speaker was Madam Ruth Olowosile (Executive Dir. of 'The Sustainable Green Environment Initiative', Cofounder and Executive Dir. of SGI) She spoke on the topic: How To Design Climate Change and SDGs Program Curriculum for Schools and other Students. Key Takeaways includes but not limited to: 1. Integrate Climate Change and SDGs into existing curriculum 2. Use interactive and experiential learning methods 3. Focus on student-centered and inquiry-based learning 4. Emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration and Connect learning to real-world scenarios and applications 5. Encourage student-led initiatives and community engagement 6. Provide opportunities for reflection, self-assessment, and feedback Factors to consider while Designing Activities: 1. Align those activities with learning objectives and outcomes 2. Incorporate diverse perspectives and voices e.g inviting guest speakers to speak to the students. 3. Use storytelling and scenario-based learning 4. Encourage creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship 5. Foster partnerships and collaborations with external organizations Note: she emphasize that educators have to be cautious of their approach to teaching; being mindful of what they say and do. Being mindful of the age of their students and tailoring their teaching techniques to fit that age, not exposing them to thing beyond their understanding and need at the moment. And lots more.. I am really grateful to be part of this movement. #AIIDEV #AIIDEVAFRICA #TEACH4SDGs

Varun, a student of Kherwadi Municipal Public School, Mumbai, spoke for all, when he said: ‘Attending the Summer School, surrounded by world-renowned experts, is beyond what I ever imagined. The experience has been truly enriching. I have gained valuable insights into climate change, and met students from across the globe, learning about their diverse cultures and perspectives. This journey is shaping up to be a life-changing experience, and I am incredibly grateful to be a part of it.’ Anika, a student of Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, echoed these sentiments, emphasising the programme’s impact on her worldview: ‘The Summer School has opened my eyes to the interconnectedness of our world and the urgent need for global cooperation in addressing climate change. The opportunity to collaborate with peers from different backgrounds has enriched my understanding and inspired me to take action.’ The landmark Summer School marked the first time in Oxford Saïd’s history that a cohort of high school students — 32 in total — have studied at the School. The students, from a wide range of countries, came together with a shared mission: to address the urgent challenges posed by climate change. ‘The last two weeks have been an amazing experience. Learning from experts and meeting students from all over the world has really opened my eyes to different ways of thinking about climate change. The mix of cultures and ideas made everything so much more interesting and has motivated me to play a bigger role in fighting climate change. As we head back to our respective home countries, I will definitely miss my new friends and the memories we have made together,’ said Ishita, a student of Bright Riders School, Abu Dhabi. The Future Climate Innovators Summer School stemmed from the Climate Change Challenge 2023, organised by Oxford Saïd and Burjeel Holdings. It offered these pioneering students an immersive experience, providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to confront climate issues directly. Through a combination of workshops, lectures, and hands-on projects, the participants engaged with world-r
