When these important teastise and testimonies are read, it can be highly felt that we should have Naval Commands expanded much more as a Blue Water Navy and it should be Ocean and Sea based, fleets instead of Zones, East and West.. Considering the geopolitical dimensions and threats to us, we should have fleets, based on Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea, Indian - Pacific Ocean Fleets, with more in its hierarchy in order along with a parallel submarine fleets..

Throughout history, seafarers have been exposed to potential thermal injuries during naval warfare; however, injury prevention, including advances in personal protective equipment, has saved lives. Thankfully, #burn injuries have decreased over time, which has resulted in a significant clinical skills gap. This paper reviews the mechanisms of thermal injury during routine naval operations and naval warfare. Lessons learned from various modern maritime mass casualty incidents are emphasized. The review article concludes with recommendations to prepare modern navies for a future war at sea. 🔗 Check the full paper: https://lnkd.in/e_DrJhBJ

Great PLA Navy Carrier analysis..... what do you mean - no night operations ? limited "blue water" operations.... First, some people might think that the PLA Navy has fully achieved parity with the United States Navy in terms of overall capability. While China has made substantial advancements and increased the size and sophistication of its navy, it still faces challenges in areas like carrier operations, global reach, and experience in sustained naval operations. Second, there's a misconception that the PLA Navy's new ships and submarines are all top-tier and state-of-the-art. Although China has introduced many modern vessels, not all are on par with the most advanced ships from other leading navies, and there can be variations in quality and capability across their fleet. Third, some may believe that the PLA Navy has mastered all aspects of naval warfare, including joint operations with other military branches. In reality, integrating naval operations with air, land, and cyber capabilities remains complex and is an ongoing area of development for the PLA. Lastly, there's a misconception that the PLA Navy can project power globally with the same reach as more established navies like those of the United States or even Russia. While China is expanding its presence, its ability to sustain operations far from its shores is still developing, and it does not yet have the same level of logistical support and overseas bases.

Military Appreciation Month Special Report featuring Ft. Lauderdale “In Your Neighborhood” WSFL-TV - The Coast Guard’s motto, “Semper Paratus” (Always Ready), reflects their unwavering commitment to being prepared for any situation. The Fort Lauderdale station exemplifies this dedication through their diverse missions, skilled personnel, and community support efforts. The Fort Lauderdale station’s area of responsibility stretches from Boca Inlet down to Baker’s Haulover Inlet, covering the entire stretch of the Intracoastal Waterway and extending 30 nautical miles offshore. While search and rescue is a primary mission, the station also focuses on recreational boating safety, armed escorts of cruise ships and Navy submarines, drug interdiction, non-US citizen interdiction, pollution response, and more. This unit operates 24/7 to respond to any mission the Coast Guard deems necessary. Operating in South Florida comes with a high operational tempo and a diverse set of missions, posing unique challenges. However, the Fort Lauderdale station is equipped with a highly skilled crew, consisting of 60 active-duty members, 30 reservists, and a robust auxiliary force of 230 volunteers. These top performers in the service make it possible to handle the demanding operational environment. The Coast Guard faces a 10% shortfall in enlistment across the service. However, leadership at the sector Miami parent command is adapting by working smarter with available resources and fostering cooperation with local agencies. Empowering junior members is a key strategy in maintaining operational efficiency.

Ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety is crucial, especially in specialized fields like submarine operations. Utilizing extensively qualified and specialized individuals, such as QMS - NDT,NACE & Industrial Ceramic Coatings submarine specialists, is paramount. Quality and safety are non-negotiable priorities, as highlighted by the tragic events like the USS Thresher incident. It's essential to recognize that opting for cheaper contractors, contracts with little to no defence experience or cutting costs can significantly compromise these standards, potentially leading to disastrous consequences. Real-life incidents like the USS Thresher serve as poignant reminders of the critical importance of supporting a robust quality supply chain populated with experts well-versed in submarine operations and highly technical defense vessels, bolstering the efficacy of QMS within the defense sector. Sixty-one years ago today, submarine USS Thresher (SSN 593) was tragically lost at sea, taking the lives of 129 officers, crew and civilians. While Newport News Shipbuilding didn’t build Thresher, the anniversary serves as a reminder of what is at stake as we build US Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. We should all know the story of Thresher, share it with those around us, and keep it in our hearts and minds every day. This solemn anniversary – and the memory of the 129 who gave their lives in service of our country – shines a light on the importance of quality and why we must never waver from our standards. Please take a moment to watch this video, featuring NNS shipbuilders Sarah Young, Rick Mora, Shineka Dixon, Enoch Sutton, Christine Reinaman and Sean Nelson, commemorating this anniversary and highlighting the impact of the Thresher disaster on our work today. We must never forget.
