Danube Private University Austria (DPU) - Collaboration with University Clinics in Lower Austria. Since 1st October 2024 Clinics in Wiener Neustadt, Neunkirchen, and Hochegg have become University Clinics, training the next generation of doctors in Lower Austria. This marks a significant milestone in advancing healthcare, education, and research in the region. Since the Autumn, these facilities have officially taken on the dual role of providing high-quality patient care while serving as centers for academic instruction and medical research in conjunction with the Danube Private University Austria (DPU). To strengthen this integration, the DPU has appointed doctors from these university hospitals to contribute to teaching activities beyond their clinical duties, ensuring a seamless connection between practical healthcare experience and academic education. This initiative fosters a collaborative environment where medical professionals can share their expertise with students in diverse settings. The awarding ceremony, recognizing these doctors' new roles, was held in Wiener Neustadt's historic old town hall. It was officiated by Mayor Mag. Klaus Schneeberger, alongside Director Robert Wagner, MA, Danube Private University Austria (DPU) and Health Agency of Lower Austria board member DI Alfred Zens, MBA and Prof. Dr. Ojan Assadian, Medical Director University Hospital Wiener Neustadt. On November 20th, 2024 the International Master Palliative Care at the HSB Hochschule Bremen – City University of Applied Sciences (GER) and the Master Physician Assistant program at the Hanze (NL) have launched a collaborative project under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Henrikje Stanze and Dr. Luppo Kuilman. During the first online meeting students discussed possible international project proposals, for which they will conduct interviews with palliative care experts worldwide and deliver a final presentation. The project leverages innovative digital tools to enhance teaching, including shared platforms, collaborative whiteboards (i.e. lucidspark.com), and a video communication platform. This initiative aligns with the STARS EU vision and aims to foster new curricular opportunities for international teaching, knowledge exchange, and relationship building.
