"We had high expectations for the collaboration with Novatron, and for us overall, they have been the best partner for GPS rig systems", tells Anders Sætre Torp, Project Manager and Blasting Manager of Kjell Foss. 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 Kjell Foss AS, which has around 115 employees, operates throughout Norway. The company has a landslide prevention project along National Road 80 in Bodø. The goal is to remove around 30,000 cubic meters of solid rock to eliminate the risk of landslides in the area. "We chose the [Novatron's] Xsite DRILL RD system due to the project’s complexity and the many contour lines that need to be drilled with precision to create barriers to stop landslides", Torp explains. 👉 Read full story: https://lnkd.in/dV2-4sjH 👉 About Xsite DRILL RD: https://lnkd.in/dbB-SpKn 🌍 Find your local Xsite reseller: https://lnkd.in/dTzNNqfs 💎 Novatron components for OEM’s: https://lnkd.in/d5nitg85 #Novatron #SensorTechnology #LandslidePrevention #drillingrig #MadeInEurope #MachineControl

🚀 Firehorn’s Recovery System Update💥 The Firehorn team has completed another development test on the Recovery sub-system, this time focusing on the line cutter. In this test, the cutter successfully sliced through a Dyneema rope—much stronger than what we plan to use—using just 0.5g of black powder. The line cutter is a critical component in the parachute’s two-stage deployment system. Initially, the parachute opens partially, held in place by a reefing line. Once the cutter severs the line, the parachute expands to its full size, enabling a controlled descent. This test, although not involving the final design or flight hardware, demonstrates the team’s ability to experiment with various ideas during the development phase. By working with robust materials like Dyneema, we can assess whether our designs are on the right track before moving forward with a finalized version. As always, safety protocols were followed closely throughout the test. We'll continue refining this and other subsystems in the coming months, stay tuned!🚀✨ Main Sponsors: APCO Technologies SA | EPFL | Constellium Gold Sponsors: Kistler Group | maxon | 3D PRECISION SA | Schoeller-Bleckmann Oilfield Technology (SBOT) | Swagelok Switzerland | ARBOR Fluidtec AG #RocketDevelopment #LineCutterTest #EngineeringProcess #FirehornRocket #RecoverySystem #SubsystemTesting #SpaceTech #EPFLRocketTeam

ROVULUM - Useful tool for slope stabilization system Engineers often rely on specialized software to guide the design and dimensioning of slope stabilization systems. Useful software tools grounded in theory, backed by empirical data, and validated through large-scale field tests, ensures the solutions is able to address real-world challenges effectively. One of the reliable tools we use is #Rovulum by Geobrugg. Extensive field tests have been conducted to assess the load-bearing capacity of slope stabilization systems under varying conditions, including steep angles of up to 85 degrees. These tests simulate real-world scenarios, providing insight into system performance. Interested in learning more? Watch the video or reach out for access to the paper for this test in this video. We are happy about the long success story of RUVOLUM. But there are more tools: ATTERO can predict the behavior of free-hanging attenuators and attenuators with mesh partially lying on the slope. The software evaluates the maximum forces acting on the mesh and rope throughout the attenuate process. SPIDER® online tool dimensions the SPIDER® rock protection system, which consists of the high-tensile spiral rope net SPIDER®S3-130 with a strand diameter of 6.5 mm and a mesh width of 130 mm, system spike plates and adequate nailing. The software examines the stability of individual, critical rock blocks and determines the number and location of the required nails along the block’s perimeter. DEBFLOW when it comes to dimensioning and aligning debris flow barriers, we rely on our project-specific DEBFLOW dimensioning tool. DEBFLOW calculates standard barrier dimensions for granular or muddy flows and evaluates their retention volume. The software is based on experience and numerous field and laboratory test results. SHALLSLIDE dimensions flexible shallow landslide protection systems: high tensile steel wire nets, support and retaining ropes with a predetermined number of brake rings and flexible spiral rope anchors. The software is based on 1:1 tests and computer simulations. SHALLSLIDE analyses the stability and calculates the dynamic forces during the impact. It also verifies if the barriers can retain the total expected retention volume. Login to myGeobrugg to give it a try: https://lnkd.in/eNJ48KzS

🌟 Precision Perfected with Pliant Offshore's Laser Measurement Technology 🌊 As an engineer who loves the technical solutions, I couldn't be more thrilled to team up with Alex Heurkens from Pliant Offshore for a sales sprint! Pliant Offshore's laser technology is seriously impressive—with the ability to super accurately measure objects in the maritime environment. And let me tell you, it can be game-changer for installing offshore structures. One of their products, the Departure Angle Measuring System (DAMS), is a true marvel. Getting very detailed cable location measurements on the chute when departing the vessel, makes it easier to position the cable on the see floor and is also more cost effective compared to other options like ROV monitoring. Also, as multiple systems are already in the market since 2015 it has already proven to live up to the expectations. During the sales sprint, we've got a structured approach to ensure top-notch client engagement, steering clear of any scattergun tactics. Over the next few weeks, we're laser-focused (😉) on positioning Pliant Offshore as the go-to choice for accurate measuring in the offshore industry. Excited yet? Well, this is just the beginning! And if you're itching to learn more right now, don't hesitate to reach out to me or Alex Heurkens. And feel free to share this message with anyone you think would be interested. Let's redefine precision together! #offshoreenergy #cableinstallation #PrecisionMeasurement

How to move 1000 tons of iron? At METRANS, we know how to do it! 💪 This Easter will be remembered by the METRANS family as a period of spectacular moving. And why spectacular? Because we gradually moved 3 of our gantry cranes, about 1050 tons of iron. 🚧 As part of the reconstruction of the Prague-Uhříněves terminal, we had to relocate them to their new track and move them a full 7 meters to the side, and even 1.5 meters in height. Which, at a weight of 350 tons, is no joke at all. By the way, a tower weighing 350 tons of A4 paper 📃 would be as tall as two Eiffel Towers stacked on top of each other! The same weight is also equivalent to 2.3 million dumplings – „knedlíky“, which are a traditional Czech dish 🍽️. 🏗 And what does moving such a giant look like? A system of hydraulic jacks is built at a certain location, which lift the crane and gradually move it to a new location. The preparations take a lot of time, but the move itself is a matter of an hour. Take a look at our video 🎬. #METRANS #GantryCrane #Prague #Terminal #Reconstruction #EngineeringFeats
