This is very exciting. I expect all six funded projects will have a huge impact on moving to a circular economy. "The U.S. National Science Foundation, in partnership with Australia's national science agency, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), are investing in solutions that will accelerate the transition of materials development, manufacturing, and use to a circular economy, positively impacting multiple industries such as semiconductors and plastics." https://lnkd.in/gTr24TsZ

To make the #GreenDeal a reality, we need an #industrialdeal that enables sustainable transformation.
Glass Alliance Europe is thrilled to announce that in less than 6 weeks, the #AntwerpDeclaration has reached 1000 signatures 📝 . This marks a pivotal milestone, and makes the call for a European #IndustrialDeal, needed to complement the Green Deal and keep high quality jobs for European workers in Europe, even stronger 🌍 . The 1000+ signatories represent companies, associations, unions, and other organizations committed to delivering the climate solutions that Europe needs. Their support for an #IndustrialDeal is a testament to European industries’ commitment to transformation ⌛ . We urgently need clarity, predictability, and confidence in Europe’s industrial policy. We urge EU Leaders to include our call into the new EU Strategic Agenda and European policies for the next five years. We need: 📝 An Industrial Deal at the new EU Strategic Agenda 2024-2029's core 💰 Strong public funding with Clean Tech Fund ⚡ Make Europe a top competitive energy supplier 🚃 Focus on needed European infrastructure 🎒 Boost EU's raw materials security ♻ Increase demand for net zero & circular products 🚚 Leverage & improve the single market 💡 Create a smarter innovation framework ⚖ Let entrepreneurship thrive to overcome challenges 🎯 Ensure a structure for achieving results Will you join us in shaping Europe’s future? The overall environmental & climate impact of digitalisation is difficult to quantify and the methodology developed by the European Green Digital Coalition is just a first step in that direction. Possibly the most impactful contribution of digitalisation, including tools such as Digital Product Passport (DPP), is to accelerate the transition to circular economy, and, to enable circular business models that are both profitable and sustainable. EU funded projects CIRPASS & CIRPASS 2 explore and demonstrate the potential of DPP. It my pleasure to discuss with the participants of CircularTech Forum 2024 concrete steps to make digitalisation both - a positive force for circular economy, - an enabler for innovative and sustainable business.

🤝 Standards Australia is partnering with Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to promote the adoption of #circulareconomy standards across the region, fostering sustainable growth and prosperity. ♻️ One organisation leading the way in #sustainability through international standards is the Global Electronics Council (GEC) with its primary tool ‘EPEAT’ eco-label. Used in over 46 countries, EPEAT helps purchasers identify tech products built with environmental and social imperatives in mind, including circularity. Another excellent output from the CSIRO and Standards Australia collaborative project about Implementation of Circular Economy Standards in the APEC region. The video was prepared by Standards Australia to demonstrate case studies for how circular economy standards can be implemented to accelerate sustainable materials and product design. This case study video is one such example, focussing on labelling standards to enable consumers to identify products with environmental and social imperatives in mind, and touches on the other critical areas that standards will play a role in accelerating circular economy. These include (but aren't limited to) circularity of materials, climate impacts, chemicals management and supply chain and market development.
