We've been delighted by the response to our announcement at #COP29, together with the International Code Council, in developing and registering a Universal Data Protocol to support the use of data across the infrastructure and construction sectors. Building on the United Nations Transparency Protocol (UNTP), this innovative, open-source protocol is designed to enable interoperable data use across the built environment, supporting robust and reliable reporting on climate and other performance goals.   💡 Interested in learning more? Watch the COP29 presentation below and visit our website for additional details: https://lnkd.in/gBsucu7d   As we move forward to the proof of concept and implementation phase, we invite you to join us in this significant effort. 🌏 We recently welcomed a delegation from the Institute of Quality of Timor-Leste. This visit was part of our Standardisation Uplift initiative, which aims to enhance Timor's standards development capabilities, economic competitiveness, safety, and resilience.   During their visit, the delegation participated in standards development meetings and engaged with various teams at Standards Australia. These interactions were designed to support their professional growth and enable them to set standards in key areas such as agriculture, climate resilience, tourism services, and the built environment. They also connected with key players in Australia’s standards and conformance ecosystem, including National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia, National Measurement Institute, Australia, and Intertek SAI Global.   We look forward to continuing this support with training and stakeholder engagement activities in Dili in 2025.

With the built environment playing a crucial role in the fight against #climatechange, the UDP will address the current challenges of fragmented and unusable data. By enabling transparent and verifiable data exchange, the protocol will facilitate effective reporting and compliance across the industry. Key benefits include: ✔️Decentralised verification 🌐Interoperability 🔒Digital security 🔠Common language 📂Open-source access Together with PyxGlobal, Standards Australia and the International Code Council are committed to making this vision a reality. 📰 Read more about the project: https://lnkd.in/d9DCg2uC ⬇ Download the whitepaper: https://lnkd.in/dVTCB2Fb Stay tuned for more updates on this project! #Sustainability #ClimateAction #BuiltEnvironment #DataProtocol Adam Stingemore Ryan Colker Zachary Zeus

🗺️ We just wrapped up the 59th ISO/TC 211 Geographic Information/ Geomatics Plenary. Celebrating 30 years of achievements during the event in Sydney was a highlight, especially with the commemorative cake! 👏 We were thrilled to hear from Jan Hjelmager of Denmark, who’s been with the committee since the very first meeting in Oslo back in November 1994. Over the past three decades, ISO/TC 211 has made significant strides in standardising geographic information, publishing 99 ISO standards with 26 more in development. Their work helps us understand spatial relationships and patterns, which are invaluable for urban planning, environmental management, and disaster response. These standards help ensure data is consistent, reliable, and interoperable. This week’s agenda included the biennial Standards in Action workshop, where the global geospatial data standards community came together for a day of insightful presentations and discussions. The week-long plenary helps raise awareness and gather user feedback, keeping the geographic information standards relevant and effective, contributing to a sustainably prosperous future.
