Horizon4Poland'24 is a matchmaking event addressed to businesses and the scientific industries. The event's format introduces participants to issues related to the Horizon Europe program, enables them to learn about the Industry Contact Points' offerings, and assists them in finding international partners. As a partner of the Lukasiewicz Research Network, Ekonomikas un kultūras augstskola / EKA University of Applied Sciences participated in the event. The Rector of EKA shared her main insights about collaboration and fostering innovation: ☑️ We have to be brave. We must abandon stereotypes and do things we have never done before. ☑️ The success of research projects and innovation is not always a story about a lack of funding. Sometimes, it is a story about a lack of good projects. ☑️ One of the barriers to successful collaboration is a lack of entrepreneurial skills. #collaboration #project #research #skills

The research center Global Minds at Work aims to facilitate the development of the global competence of young professionals. By doing so, we boost their employability, but also encourage them to contribute to an inclusive and sustainable society. Since we are located in the beautiful city of Maastricht, working interculturally is almost a given. Unfortunately, we do not use the untapped potential of our location. Why is it so difficult to work together across borders? Last week we joined two summits in Kerkrade and Maastricht to talk about this important topic. 🌍 Ulysseus Summit 2024: Advancing European Collaboration On November 13–14, 2024, the Valrose Campus at Université Côte d’Azur hosted the annual Ulysseus Summit, bringing together leaders and experts from eight European universities. This flagship event celebrated progress in building a resilient and inclusive European university alliance focused on cooperation, research, and innovation. Key highlights included:  -Updates on educational innovation, research, and public engagement from Ulysseus’ work packages.  -Discussions on fostering equity and inclusion, advancing joint degrees, and enhancing mobility programs.  -Presentations of digital tools to create a virtual, interconnected academic environment. While patiently waiting for the results, let’s steer the focus towards upcoming funding opportunities ⬇️ The year has had a productive start with several application deadlines, including #EUfunding through the #InnovationFund Auction, #MSCA #COFUND and #StaffExchanges, #eicPathfinderOpen, #eicAccelerator, and, most recently, #Eurostars. In addition, national calls such as the Danish #EUDP and #GUDP. Kudos to our team and thanks to our clients for great collaborations! Some upcoming funding calls: 🇩🇰 Grand Solutions, organised by Innovation Fund Denmark, supports Danish-led and large-scale #research and #innovation projects, typically done by private/academic consortia. 🔬 The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, under Horizon Europe, fund #research and #innovation as well as equip #researchers with new #knowledge and #skills. The 2024 calls for Postdoctoral Fellowships, COFUND, Doctoral Networks, and Staff Exchanges have been announced.
