Did you know that ICES welcomes proposals from ICES Members for initiatives that aim to foster #EuropeanStudies at the Europa-Universität Flensburg by expanding EUF’s research infrastructure, promoting early career #researchers, or strengthening academic #networking? 🌍📚✨ This includes: 1) Preparation of a #thirdparty funding application 📑💼 We support applications for an interdisciplinary collaborative research project in the field of European Studies. ICES helps you identify suitable funding sources, offers personalised #advice throughout the funding application process, and covers costs for activities that you feel are best suited to prepare a competitive research proposal. 2) International Conferences 🌐🎤 We welcome proposals from EUF researchers and ICES members interested in organising an international #conference at the EUF in the field of European Studies and intending to apply for DFG funding within their programme "International Scientific Events". ICES will support you in setting up the proposal and will #finance the conference in case your proposal is not successful! 3) (Researchers in Residence) Fellowships 🏠👩🔬 This opportunity is aimed at ICES members who wish to invite renowned colleagues in the field of European Studies to foster interdisciplinary #collaboration, develop project ideas or forthcoming publications, and support innovative research in European studies. The fellowship provides financial support to cover travel and accommodation for the visiting scholar. 4) #OpenAccess Fees 💸📖 You can apply for funding to cover Open Access Fees up to €3000 per publication. Funding can be granted if 1) the research article is produced in the context of scientific activities at ICES; 2) the journal/publisher is internationally renowned and fulfils recognized quality assurance standards; 3) the article has already been submitted and you are "submitting author" or "corresponding author" responsible for paying the publication fees. 5) Research infrastructure 🛠️🔬 This call is not meant to be restrictive regarding the type of activity, initiative, or affiliation. The proposed measures should, however, be relevant not only to individual members but should be interesting and accessible to other members as well. We generally (co-) fund ideas with up to €3,000. Exceptions can be made in well-justified cases. Submit your proposals and be part of this exciting journey to advance European Studies! 🌟🗺️ 👉 Further info: https://lnkd.in/d9fcCeXB

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) help host institutions and countries such as Ireland to attract top-tier international researchers. By offering well-funded and structured research opportunities, MSCA-funded training programmes position Ireland as a magnet for research talent, boosting the reputation of the country as a global leader in research excellence and training. Ireland has established itself as a leader in leveraging MSCA funding. In the past decade alone, Ireland has drawn down just under €300 million through the MSCA, making it one of the more successful programmes for Ireland in EU funding. I attended a workshop on the sustainibility of international relations between South African and Swedish research institutes on 16 May during SASUF. https://lnkd.in/d9z5-vqG Very informative. One issue that was raised is that academics are not reminded of such agreements, networks or fora like SASUF. Universities need to find a way to rectify this. Perhaps have monthly webinars? And how to involve students and postdocs? Here is another network that I just stumbled upon by chance: SAFINET Southern African and Finnish Higher Education Institutions' Network for Health and Well-Being And it is in its last year of the current cycle. So many missed opportunities to network. https://lnkd.in/dBcjuswH #finland #southafrica #university #internationalrelations #collaboration #sdgs #sdg3 #sdg17 #safinet
