Our community cannot allow this to happen. Help needed ! Please share this on your personal business pages and Facebook pages to gain awareness. This is so so important- please consider donating just £50 (the equivalent of a meal out). No one knows when disability may affect you or someone you love- the Calvert Trust have helped so many people find adventure and happiness beyond illness and injury. Please take 2minutes out of your day to help otherwise this wonderful facility won’t be able to continue. ***Calvert Trust Notice *** We are facing an immediate and critical financial crisis. Without raising £500,000 by August 31st 2024, we will have no choice but to close our doors forever. DONATE NOW For almost 30 years, our centre has been a vital source of transformative outdoor adventures for individuals with disabilities. We've offered life-changing experiences through accessible activities like horse riding, zip-lining, climbing and canoeing, among others. Our mission has always been to foster independence and build confidence, and we've proudly provided these opportunities to so many incredible people. The situation we face The current economic climate has presented us with severe challenges meaning we are now at crisis point: Decline in Tourism: The South West tourism sector has been hit especially hard this year by weather issues and increased competition from overseas travel. Inflationary Pressures: The costs of running our centre have risen sharply due to inflation. Essentials like food, fuel, maintenance, and wages have all become more expensive, putting a strain on our finances. How your donations will help To overcome these challenges and secure our future, we have launched a Crowdfunder campaign with a target of £500,000. This desperately needed money will be used to: Keep Our Doors Open: We need cash now to enable us to stay operational over the winter months. We have a fantastic number of bookings for 2025 already, but without this money now, the centre will close and our excited guests will miss out on their opportunity to flourish through their upcoming breaks. Keep our Horses Safe: With 14 horses in our care, one of our top priorities is ensuring that these cherished animals can stay on site and remain cared for by our dedicated and passionate equestrian team of staff, volunteers and community members. If Calvert Exmoor closes, our horses will be considered assets and no longer remain in our care, making their future uncertain. Explore New Opportunities: We want to invest in new bunkhouse accommodation which will enable us to tap into new markets and create an immediate sustainable future. Note, if the target isn’t reached and the centre closes, your donation amount will be returned to you by Crowdfunder. To support our campaign, please donate here https://lnkd.in/eN-qbWV4 For questions, please contact receptionexmoor@calvert-trust.org.uk or phone 01598 763221 between 9am and 6pm

As a co-op, we’re run differently. We’re not owned by a wealthy few, we are owned by our Members. They have a say in how we’re run, help to pick our Board, and choose how our profits are spent in our local communities. And when you’re owned by the people, you can do right by the people. When it comes to your food, your community, your life and even your death. It’s only right that it is determined by you. We’re not just your local shop or funeral home. We’re a 180-year-old global movement, all trying to do the right thing. Your voice, your values, your co-op.

Some of you may know, and many likely don't, that my parents-in-law fund and manage an orphanage in Mozambique; one of the poorest countries in the world. Their non-profit organization, Least of These Ministries, utilizes 100% of donations to fund the orphanage named after my mother-in-law: Rebecca's Home. These donations pay for school for the kids (it isn't free in Mozambique), new clothes, shoes and beds, medical care, job training, staff salaries, building structures like dorms and wells, maintenance and repairs, food, holiday celebrations and anything else the kids need. Currently, there are about 50 children living at Rebecca's Home. Since its start in 2007, hundreds of Mozambique's "least of these" have been helped at Rebecca's Home. Recently, I was asked to make a video using some current pictures sent by Pastor Cebola (he's the man who runs the orphanage locally). Please take a look and see all the good that is being done there. And if you want to get involved financially, or otherwise, please let me know and I'll give you details on how to make a difference in these kids' lives.
