April is National Volunteer Month, and so we wanted to close the month with an important reminder for employers: those who make a point to support and work with charities are not only contributing to the wider community, but are also making a smart business move, too. It was discovered that businesses that donate over 0.5% of turnover were twice as likely to report enhancements in company reputation, and were nearly 50% more likely to see it help recruit and retain staff. This is because engaging your teams in charity work can offer an array of benefits which you can read all about below... #nationalvolunteermonth #charity #charitywork #esg

Tribal giving is as unique and varied as the tribes themselves. Each tribal nation operates as a sovereign entity, meaning they have their own distinct priorities and methods of philanthropy. In some states, tribes generously support local charities, while others focus strictly on education or health initiatives. There are even cases where public giving is minimal or non-existent. For organizations seeking funding, having a clear understanding of tribal giving in your state is critical to making the right connections. That’s where our state-by-state guide comes in. Whether you’re part of a nonprofit looking for grants, an educational institution seeking support, or a local charity exploring new funding avenues, this guide provides valuable insights to help you navigate the complex landscape of tribal giving. Check out our guide here: https://lnkd.in/eq4WxHRx and let us know what you think! #tribalgiving #mapoftribalgrants #grantwriting #grantwriters #grantwritingsupport #grantwritingtips #grantsupport #nonprofittips

Small charities are struggling more than ever. Holding Space is no exception. Our work is crucial to the parents and carers of East Sussex, but if things continue as they are we may not be here in 2025 to meet the needs of our local community. And to meet the needs of our local community, we need our community to help us. Funding opportunities are shrinking, while the number of small charities needing support is increasing. We rely on donations, we rely on volunteers. We’re vulnerable. There are so many fantastic ways that small charities can be supported by their community. But it has to come from people. People who want to make a difference, a tangible difference. People who are willing to… 💜Volunteer their time 💜Encourage their employer to get involved 💜Set up a monthly donation 💜Start a fundraiser 💜Share and like our social media posts The reality is this. If you’ve ever felt alone, unsupported, lost, or not listened to as a parent, Holding Space has the Parent Peer Support volunteers to make sure you’re not alone. To give you the tools to get through the tough times. Every parent and carer deserves that. Help us to continue delivering this work in our local community. #smallcharities #charityfunding #fundraising

Recruiting in the charity sector, I often hear from fundraisers who feel demotivated and burned out. They work tirelessly, often with little recognition for their efforts. As more people leave the sector, it's clear that showing appreciation could go a long way—and it doesn't have to be costly! This article provides examples of practical, low-cost ways to keep teams motivated and valued in challenging times. From something as simple as a heartfelt "thank you" to creative perks like an extra day off, these gestures can make a real difference. Recognising efforts shows our teams that they matter, boosting both morale and loyalty. When resources are tight, thoughtful appreciation is invaluable #Fundraising #IndividualGiving #CharityJobs #SayThankYou #Valued

QCS 💚 supporting Hector's House! We've held many fundraising events for these guys! They do a superb job in raising suicide awareness, hosting men's clubs, signposting and educating adults and children about this cause, one that is close to my heart. Also, when they attend our events they usually bring Rupert. Nothing is as exciting as a dog in the office!!! 🐶 You can see below how I spend my time when Hector's House come for a visit 👇 If your business doesn't have a charity partner, maybe it's time to consider one (and maybe make it Hector's House). Here are some reasons why... 1 - Boost your employability. 2 - Helps you forge deeper ties within your community. 3 - Fosters a sense of pride and purpose. 4 - Helps inform your values and build your culture. 5 - Can increase sales and enhance brand reputation. 6 - Gives you a competitive advantage. 7 - Eases the burden of tax charges. For more info read the charity's blog post and give the guys a follow. They do important work. https://lnkd.in/euGt7n3d #charity #givingback #charitypartner #fundraising #suicideawareness Sarah O'Brien Karyn Taylor

The success of fundraising does not just sit on the fundraisers shoulders. The weight of whether an organisation can afford to continue supporting its beneficiaries or not is far too heavy so it absolutely has to be distributed. Service teams - you carry some of this weight because simply without a delivery strategy and effective services what can fundraisers get funding for? Comms teams - you carry some of this weight because if no one knows your charity exists no one will donate to it. Senior leadership teams - you carry some of this weight because without data analysis and monitoring mechanisms in place the charity can’t justify its existence, thus make a case for funding requirements. Board of Trustees - you carry some of this weight because without decision making and networking, the charity becomes stagnant which means no opportunities for income growth. Collaborate across teams and share the load. Create a space where everyone has a say and can raise potential issues that won’t be ignored. Challenge each other. Fundraising was never easy and in the current climate it’s probably the most challenging it’s ever been. What is your team doing to help? #fundraisers #fundraising #charity
