Recruiting in the charity sector, I often hear from fundraisers who feel demotivated and burned out. They work tirelessly, often with little recognition for their efforts. As more people leave the sector, it's clear that showing appreciation could go a long way—and it doesn't have to be costly! This article provides examples of practical, low-cost ways to keep teams motivated and valued in challenging times. From something as simple as a heartfelt "thank you" to creative perks like an extra day off, these gestures can make a real difference. Recognising efforts shows our teams that they matter, boosting both morale and loyalty. When resources are tight, thoughtful appreciation is invaluable #Fundraising #IndividualGiving #CharityJobs #SayThankYou #Valued

QCS 💚 supporting Hector's House! We've held many fundraising events for these guys! They do a superb job in raising suicide awareness, hosting men's clubs, signposting and educating adults and children about this cause, one that is close to my heart. Also, when they attend our events they usually bring Rupert. Nothing is as exciting as a dog in the office!!! 🐶 You can see below how I spend my time when Hector's House come for a visit 👇 If your business doesn't have a charity partner, maybe it's time to consider one (and maybe make it Hector's House). Here are some reasons why... 1 - Boost your employability. 2 - Helps you forge deeper ties within your community. 3 - Fosters a sense of pride and purpose. 4 - Helps inform your values and build your culture. 5 - Can increase sales and enhance brand reputation. 6 - Gives you a competitive advantage. 7 - Eases the burden of tax charges. For more info read the charity's blog post and give the guys a follow. They do important work. https://lnkd.in/euGt7n3d #charity #givingback #charitypartner #fundraising #suicideawareness Sarah O'Brien Karyn Taylor

April is National Volunteer Month, and so we wanted to close the month with an important reminder for employers: those who make a point to support and work with charities are not only contributing to the wider community, but are also making a smart business move, too. It was discovered that businesses that donate over 0.5% of turnover were twice as likely to report enhancements in company reputation, and were nearly 50% more likely to see it help recruit and retain staff. This is because engaging your teams in charity work can offer an array of benefits which you can read all about below... #nationalvolunteermonth #charity #charitywork #esg

A recent survey found that the most common reasons volunteers stop volunteering are related to their stress level and well-being. A good way to set a good relationship with your volunteers from the start is to have a good volunteer handbook. Charity Digital shares some tips on how to write your handbook, from thinking about your audience to how to figure out what to prioritize. https://lnkd.in/eKkHMX8t . . . #tateconsults #nonprofit #consulting #fundraising #donorretentions #capitalcampaign

Here at #SCWAHN, we are very familiar with what financial donations can do for our nonprofit organization. Every penny we receive goes back into the organization: paying bills, dues, insurance, events, merchandise, etc. But on this #GivingTuesday, in the true spirit of charity, generosity, and collaboration, consider other means of donation that do not cost money. 1. Your Knowledge - You never know what all you can contribute to our organization. Your skills, experience, knowledge can be a true asset. 2. Your Time - We all know the saying goes, "Time is Money." And while that statement is true in most areas of our lives, when volunteering your time to help an organization you believe in and want to succeed, your time ends up being priceless, invaluable, and appreciated. 3. Your Network - You know so many people and your platform can be used to share and spread the word about charities and nonprofits. Repost, like, and follow to help. If you are on our newsletter, you will have seen we have openings on our Board of Directors, as well as Committees. If any of the above resonates with you, feel free to reach out to info@scwahn.org to see how you can help. #givingtuesday #networking #womennetwork #nonprofit #affordablehousing #ruraldevelopment #lihtc #lowincome #donate #volunteer

Behind every small charity is someone balancing multiple roles, often in their evening hours. Tonight my evening has consisted of: - Helping a friend write their trustee role descriptions - Working with my cousin to pull together my own charity annual accounts - Squeezing in Christmas shopping - Even finding time for some family history research This snapshot perfectly captures what running a small charity looks like. It's about making time in the quiet evening hours, between day jobs and family life, to keep our organisations running and support others in the sector. This is why peer support in the small charity sector is crucial. When we share our expertise and time with others, it creates a ripple effect of improved governance and stronger organisations across the sector. That's what makes our community special - real people, running real charities, supporting each other through the everyday challenges. #SmallCharities #CharityLeadership #PeerSupport #CharityGovernance
