Central and West Asia Chapter Finals of the 2024 "Maker in China" International SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest Conclude Successfully in Shanghai Taovation is continuously supporting the regional cooperation among Central Asia, Southern/Northern Asia startup ecosystems. On November 7, 2024, the Central and West Asia Chapter Finals of the 2024 "Maker in China" International SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest took place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, in alignment with the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Bringing together eight elite teams from Mongolia, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan, the event highlighted pioneering solutions across sectors, showcasing the vitality of innovation in emerging markets. Alaqan and CerebraAI from Kazakhstan, along with Pakistan’s Orbit-Ed, clinched the top three positions and will represent the Central and West Asia region at the global finals in Guangzhou this December. Organized by the China International Cooperation Association of SMEs and hosted by Taovation, the event was supported by our international partners, including the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Communications of Mongolia, Qaztrade Center for Trade Policy Development from Kazakhstan, Growth Vision Pro, and Pakistan’s OVentures. The finals served as an invaluable platform for SME innovation and idea exchange, fostering cross-regional collaboration in technology and business. Judges, including experts from Huashan Capital, Sinolink Securities, and Shanghai Sinnobabor Incubator, China International Cooperation Association of SMEs, ZhongYuanHuiChuang Tech Park, rigorously assessed each project on criteria such as technological innovation, business model, and market positioning. Teams pitched followed by Q&A sessions, receiving insightful feedback to fuel their growth and expansion. The vibrant atmosphere of the finals underscored the achievements and potential of each team. As the winners prepare for the global stage in Guangzhou, they exemplify the unique contributions of Central and West Asian innovation to the global ecosystem. We look forward to seeing more Belt and Road Initiative companies excel on the international stage, driving economic growth and technological progress.
