In recognition of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, we reflect on the impactful session, "Comfort Care, Hospice, and End-of-Life Considerations in FTD," from the AFTD 2023 Education Conference. This project has created five videos, providing education on ways to navigate common care challenges associated with MND, while waiting to seek personalised support. Today I attended an online webinar, it sparked so much thought and passion within me. Unfortunately conversations that throughout my professional career .. Working within the education sector and being a family support I worker I’ve heard about many times, But more importantly I’ve seen, I’ve witnessed the heartbreak it causes to families and vulnerable children. ✨ We all really must do more to keep children safe and help families thrive ✨ The Webber was named: Improving outcomes for children and young people in complex situations with multiple needs. Key takeaways - - Earlier therapeutic intervention is needed to prevent family breakdown and hospital admissions. - The importances of children staying within there local communities and close to home and family’s where possible. - Multi - agency input to ensure needs are being met. - Get to know the child’s story One professional shared a quote that I had to share- “We need to stop just pulling people out of the river. Some of us need to go upstream and find out why they are following in” 🏞️
