Nowadays, 2 out of 3 students in Europe graduate from universities that are part of European Universities Alliances. These Alliances improve higher education by filling gaps in skills and build the European workforce that society needs. They can do this in efficient ways, by grouping together universities’ expertise, resources, data, staff and resources. This makes Europe more competitive and more attractive worldwide. A large increase in budget for Alliances has recently been proposed. The African context is marked by a low interest in research, States are often content to provide operating subsidies to universities. The African private sector is more specialized in import-export than in setting up production and/or processing industries likely to call on researchers. As a result, research centers and university research units are poorly funded. If an awareness campaign aimed at States and companies is necessary so that they are interested in financing research and development, in the short term researchers must invest in finding funding on an international scale and participate fully in the production of new ideas and innovative processes for global well-being and a sustainable world. To do this, African researchers must not only mobilize funding for their scientific work, but above all they must take part alongside researchers from diverse backgrounds and related disciplines in sharing research products. To this end, it is necessary for African researchers to participate in international conferences to discuss their papers and the papers of other researchers around the world. These two themes, in particular the search for and acquisition of international funding and the presentation of my work in international bodies, hold my attention because the first will allow me to access additional funding in my research projects while the second offers me an opportunity to popularize the results of my work and also be informed of the results obtained by other researchers in the world. Thus, the two themes and not without the other ten of entrepreneurial thinking, they will allow me to be an active researcher in various environments. For my thesis work, i received support for my doctoral thesis from the University of Ottawa in Canada. This includes the supervision of Professor ARY TANIMOUNE Nasser, but also the support of my stays outside Niger. Previously, i was a recipient of the Interuniversity Third Cycle Program PTCI scholarship (2012-2014) in Cotonou, Benin. Rgarding international conferences, i received an invitation to participate in the thematic doctoral seminars of the Luxembourg-Bamako Cooperation in November 2016, where we spent 10 days. Morocco and Spain convened in Madrid to discuss enhancing higher education and research cooperation. Notable figures, including Spanish Minister of Science, Innovation, and Universities, Diana Morant Ripoll, and Moroccan Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui, participated. Both parties emphasized advancing collaboration in higher education and research, aligning with objectives outlined in the Treaty of Friendship, Good Neighborliness, and Cooperation. They also highlighted momentum generated during the 12th High-Level Meeting in Rabat on February 2, 2023, expressing intent to further propel cooperation in science, innovation, and higher education. Miraoui stressed facilitating student and doctoral mobility, fostering academic collaboration in research and innovation, and promoting joint doctoral supervision. The ministers welcomed the signing of agreements between Spanish universities and Moroccan counterparts, signaling a mutual commitment to strengthening ties. Following discussions, a joint communique was signed, paving the way for a joint commission tasked with overseeing the Memorandum of Understanding on Research and Development's implementation. Today, I was privileged to attend the MEETING OF BRAZILIAN RESEARCHERS IN ITALY, a momentous event organized by the Ambasciata del Brasile a Roma to commemorate the first anniversary of the program for Brazilian researchers in Italy. 🇧🇷🇮🇹 The presence of Brazilian Ambassador Mr Renato Mosca underscored the importance of this milestone. As an Italian-Brazilian student living in Italy, I am deeply honored to contribute to our dynamic research ecosystem. I am keenly interested in driving advancements and fostering cross-border collaborations. With the support from initiatives such as Diaspora Ricercatori, Programa Diplomacia Inovaçao, and IILA-Organizzazione Internazionale Italo-latino americana, the seminar encompassed crucial discussions, notably: 1️⃣ The Scientific Research Diaspora: We explored the vast opportunities available for PhD and master’s students to engage in research collaborations with Italian and Brazilian universities. One highlight was the revelation from a survey conducted by GCUB, indicating that 70% of Brazilian students would prefer not to return to Brazil, citing prospects for a better future and improved work conditions outside their home country. 2️⃣ Dialogues with Brazilian Institutions and the Business World: Engaging discussions centered on strengthening partnerships between Brazilian academic institutions and the corporate sector, highlighting avenues for collaboration and innovation. The event attracted key stakeholders, including the Brazilian Ambassador, university professors, coordinators, and industry leaders, alongside research managers. To conclude, I’d like to quote Dr. Andre Chieffi in his speech, "If you don't fail in science, you can't innovate." Let us embrace the lessons learned from setbacks as opportunities for innovation and growth.
