After the Tbilisi Orpheus 2024 Conference, the significance of Health Development Offices as health prevention provider and their nationwide coverage in gerontosociology was also presented at the XXVII. Spring Wind Conference, with statistical concentration indices examined. I am grateful to my supervisor, Dr. István Vingender, and to my fellow PhD student, Viola Angyal.

📢 Attention researchers, clinicians, all the digestive health community! Your input is needed to shape the future of health research in Europe. The BioMed Alliance Health Research Committee is gathering feedback to prepare recommendations for the next research framework programme (FP10, successor of Horizon Europe). If you've participated in Horizon Europe calls or followed the programme, please take a few minutes to fill out this important survey by May 29th. Your insights are invaluable! 🌟 https://lnkd.in/dDjM36SK#HealthResearch#HorizonEurope#FP10#BioMedAlliance#uegresearch
Thanks Haliton Junior for sharing this important report.
The report "Human Genomics for Health: Enhancing the Impact of Effective Research" summarizes the outcomes of the first regional meeting for the Americas, held in Brasília on May 15-16, 2024. Organized by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) and Brazil’s Ministry of Health, the event gathered over 100 participants from various fields, including scientific policy, bioethics, national genomics initiatives, cancer, rare diseases, and congenital disorders.
The main conclusions of the document "Human Genomics for Health: Enhancing the Impact of Effective Research" are:
1. Transformative Potential of Genomics:
Genomics holds the power to revolutionize clinical care and public health, from early diagnosis to personalized treatment, particularly in areas such as rare diseases, cancer, and congenital conditions.
2. Implementation Challenges:
Access Inequalities: Significant disparities exist among countries in the Americas regarding access to genomic technologies and infrastructure.
Lack of Structured Policies: Many countries lack clear national policies to integrate genomics into public health.
Education and Training Gaps: The training of healthcare professionals in genomic tools is insufficient.
3. Importance of Regional Cooperation:
Collaboration between countries is crucial for sharing resources, knowledge, and best practices, particularly in low- and middle-income nations.
Strengthening regional partnerships can accelerate scientific advances and improve equity in access to genomic technologies.
4. Recommended Actions:
Strengthen National Infrastructure and Capacity: Invest in laboratories, technology, and specialized workforce training.
Develop Integrated Public Policies: Create national policies to promote the incorporation of genomics into public health and healthcare systems.
Foster Bioethics and Inclusion: Ensure that the use of genomics is ethical, inclusive, and patient-centered, respecting the cultural and social diversity of the Americas.
Build Collaborative Research Networks: Establish regional networks to accelerate progress and avoid duplication of efforts.
5. Sustainability and Equity:
Actions must be sustainable in the long term and prioritize reducing inequalities in the application of genomics across different populations and countries.
These conclusions emphasize the urgency of coordinated and collaborative strategies to ensure that the benefits of genomics are widely accessible across the region.

Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) has just published The Report of the first regional meeting for the Americas: "Human genomics for health
Enhancing the impact of effective research". It was a pleasure for me to represent Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz at this important meeting, which brings seven important recommendations to be addressed collectively in Latin America and the Caribbean.
🎙️ Nordic Global Health Talks:
"The target trial framework in global health research: barriers and opportunities"
In this talk, Anthony Matthews from Karolinska Institutet will discuss how a target trial framework can be used an organizing principle for the design of observational studies.
Anthony will give an introduction to the target trial framework for causal inference, describe its current place in global health research, and suggest some solutions for how to effectively incorporate its uptake.

Your insights and responses are needed by July 1st!!
Your perspective is invaluable whether you are from the scientific research community, clinical practice communities, patient and family advocates, scientific or professional organizations, federal partners, HHS and NIH staff, or other interested constituents.
Please share your thoughts on key challenges, opportunities, and needs in global health research. This effort will culminate in a public workshop and published report of the process, findings, and results. It is the goal that this priority setting process be data-driven, standardized, and transparent, and will assemble a wide range of perspectives and stakeholders interested in helping to address research gaps and forge new partnerships between Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) and High-income Countries (HICs) to advance our global research activities in neurological health.
