WATCH NOW: https://lnkd.in/eKbNVpQU The "Food as Engagement: Implications for Health and Access to Care" panel at the Future of Health Summit is moderated by Holly Freishtat from Milken Institute Feeding Change and features Steve Brazeel from SunTerra, James Kirby, PharmD, BCPS, FAPhA from Kroger Health, Pamela Schwartz from Kaiser Permanente, and Angela F. Leaders across the health, food retail, and health-care industries are mobilizing effective ways to use food to engage individuals in other health-care services that can improve health outcomes. This session will highlight innovative strategies that leverage food in the health-care journey, from emerging opportunities for Food is Medicine care in Medicare and Medicaid, to identifying the role of employers in championing food as health for their employees, to using food as a touchpoint to address health disparities and social determinants of health more broadly. #MIHealthSummit #FoodSystems #FoodIsMedicine

In the latest Milken Institute Health newsletter, Executive Vice President Esther Krofah connects the dots between the Milken Institute's programming in Asia and the United States: "This September, the Milken Institute hosted the 11th annual Asia Summit, which included the “Future of Health in Asia,” a full day of health programming that covered diverse topics, including prevention, women’s health, healthy aging, mental health, and food systems transformation. Linked to the Milken Institute’s US-based Future of Health Summit in Washington, DC, the Future of Health in Asia track connected the Institute’s health initiatives across regions around the world and brought together influential leaders who are making positive changes for humanity within and beyond the Asia-Pacific region. Next in our exciting event schedule, the Milken Institute will host the Future of Health Summit in Washington, DC, on November 13-14, 2024. This event will amplify innovative partnerships, targeted research, thought leadership, and policy priorities emerging from the Institute’s commitment to the fields of public health, food, aging, strategic philanthropy, and biomedical innovation. Discussion will center on critical topics defining health in the years to come after the US elections."
