A true honour to witness today’s signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the University of Liverpool and Roche Diagnostics UK & Ireland. The MoU signals the opportunity and desire to develop a longterm, strategic relationship between these powerhouses, built on trust and shared vision to co-create impactful research and innovation, that can ultimately transform healthcare delivery and citizen wellbeing. From biomarker discovery and point of care diagnostics to population health and oncology, this builds on leading capabilities and expertise between these organisations. The MIF is co-founded by the University of Liverpool and Unilever as part of the UK Research Partnership Investment Fund (UKRPIF) initiative, managed by Research England (part of UK Research and Innovation) You can learn more about the Materials Innovation Factory here: https://lnkd.in/eWvW2WB4 🤓 What else is happening in the North West? Well did you know Roche Diagnostics and the Health Innovation North West Coast (headquartered in the Liverpool City Region) recently completed a project looking at a pathway service evaluation aimed to demonstrate whether using rapid diagnostics to diagnose Flu A/B and SARS-CoV-2 alongside digital reporting in the community could improve patient outcomes, reduce the need for hospitalisations and therefore reduce the burden on secondary care, whilst identifying any further system benefits - learn more this project here: https://lnkd.in/eRWUA-3q
